🌈✨ Introducing Our Senior SEND Team! ✨🌈
We are incredibly proud to introduce our newly established Senior Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Team: Natalie, Chloe, Amelia and Hannah! 💚
Today, all four members attended their SENCO training which was delivered by Cheshire East, taking an exciting first step towards developing a bespoke SEND team within our nursery.
Working directly alongside and under the guidance of our nursery SENCO- Amy, our Senior SEND Team will play a vital role in strengthening our inclusive practice and ensuring that every child receives the individualised support, care and opportunities they need to thrive.
💫 What will our Senior SEND Team do?
Early Identification & Support – Supporting practitioners to recognise emerging developmental needs and identify children who may benefit from additional support.
Supporting Children & Families – Building positive relationships with families, listening to their experiences and ensuring they feel supported, valued and included throughout their child’s journey.
Individualised Learning & Development – Working alongside Amy, our practitioners will implement and review targeted strategies, reasonable adjustments and individual support plans.
Supporting Our Practitioners – Sharing knowledge, offering practical guidance and helping colleagues develop their confidence in supporting children with additional needs.
Promoting Inclusive Environments – Championing inclusive practice, identifying barriers to learning and helping ensure that every child can participate, belong and achieve.
Working Collaboratively – Supporting Amy with the implementation of SEND strategies and contributing to effective communication with families and external professionals, where appropriate.
🎓 Our Commitment to Continued Professional Development (CPD)
Today’s training is just the beginning!
Our Senior SEND Team will continue to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence through ongoing CPD opportunities, including specialist SEND training, workshops, SENCO networks, reflective practice and keeping up to date with current guidance and best practice.
Through regular collaboration with Amy, the team will share their learning with colleagues, reflect on the effectiveness of our provision and continually identify opportunities to strengthen our inclusive approach.
Why have we created a Senior SEND Team?
We believe that inclusion is everyone’s responsibility. By investing in a dedicated team of knowledgeable and passionate practitioners, we aim to strengthen the support available across our nursery, promote early intervention and ensure that children with SEND are understood, celebrated and empowered to reach their full potential.
Amy will continue to lead our SEND provision as nursery SENCO, with Natalie, Chloe, Amelia and Hannah working directly under her leadership to help embed high-quality, consistent and inclusive practice throughout the nursery.
👏 Please join us in congratulating Natalie, Chloe, Amelia and Hannah as they begin their exciting new roles!
