Year 5 camp out update: all eaten, played, watched a film and now cleaning teeth. (Some are trying to plan a midnight feast!) Huge thanks to Miss Hutton, Miss Moul and Mrs Woodward. See you bright and early (7.30-8.00) x

Be aware: I’ve been informed that there are 2 baby seagulls on floor around house opposite the main gate, the parents are being very protective so keep eye peeled. I will assess the situation when I arrive at school. X

ESCOT Update:
The children arrived this morning in good time, made their name badges, completed the maze (everyone made it out!) and then had their lunch. They spent the afternoon in the cool of the Anglo Saxon village which was great fun. They are just about to have some supper and then Mr Russell is going to hose them down to cool off! Mrs Mills

Dear All,
I hope that you have had a chance to enjoy this lovely, sunny weather this weekend.

This week however there is a weather warning of 'extreme heat'. We will do our best to keep students and staff cool and ensure they are inside or in the shade as best as we can.

With this in mind please can you help us with the following;

DRINKS: Make sure your child comes to school each day with water to drink, no fizzy drinks. They can refill water bottles throughout the day.

SUNCREAM: send them covered in suncream and send spare so they are able to reapply it (must be in a bag and named)

HATS: Please send them with a hat. If your child does not have a hat then I will have to consider if it is safe to let them outside.

FANS: The classrooms are warm and we only have a few fans. If you have any spare and are able to lend them to us then we would be eternally grateful.

UNIFORM: Uniform will remain unchanged but I think it unlikely they need jumpers or cardigans (and year 6 should not wear their hoodies). If they do not have school shorts/skirt then they can wear their PE shorts to keep cool.

TOWEL: At lunchtime we will set up the hose and I am going to rig up my sprinkler so they can run in and out of the spray at lunchtime. If you want to send a little towel for them to dry off then feel free. Although I think they will dry quite quickly!

I will continue to review the weather each day and update you with any local or national guidance as I am given it.

Thank you,
Mrs Mills
