Curly Cut consultations take time
You need to first assess how much bounce you’re going to get once the hair has been styled and also how you are going to style it after.

We went in depth here and this part was just about the face framing pieces if I initially went in and created lots of shape around the face I know she would have hated that as her length was the main priority especially around the front.

If I was to open all that up I think she would have felt very short.

This was the first time cutting my clients hair and this was about building trust and so in the future she with feel confidence to take more off.

We love curls, we love learning, we love sharing what we’ve learnt and there’s genuinely nothing better than watching that moment when something finally clicks for another stylist. ✨

We believe great hairdressing is about so much more than technique.

It’s understanding the why.
Building confidence.
Creating incredible client experiences.
Running a successful business.
And NEVER deciding that you’ve learnt enough.

We’ll share the wins, the things that didn’t work, the lessons we’ve learnt behind the chair and probably quite a lot about curls along the way. 😂 (we love and overshare 😂)

Kinda Chic to be a blonde specialist in your salon and when that blonde babe comes in and says “I want to leave my natural texture today” you can say
“Oh stunning let me just grab the products that’s right for you and my diffuser”

Not s**t yourself because your have spent 5 hours foiling and glossing and now it’s not going to look great because you’re a “blonde specialist” not a “curl specialist”

See input opinion you should learn how to do all textured because you honestly don’t know who’s going to sit in your chair from one day to the next

We thought we didn’t have many curly clients!

Looking back now we had loads we just didn’t know how to support them

You don’t have to be a specialist

You don’t even need to advertise it

YES it’s great being able to give your clients a special ‘salon done’ finish - and if they want something different then that’s great 🙌🏼

BUT! What if they just want to leave knowing how their haircut is going to look the other 99% of the time?

Part of being a great curly stylist is having ALL of the conversations with your client before and during their service, finding out what they really want and working out what service and education you can give them that’s going to work WITH them at home and not just as a one off in the salon 🤓

When we educate you we’re not just giving you the technical skills we want to set you up for everything you might need.
