🇰🇭 Cambodia 2026 Update 🇰🇭

Our Cambodia team have now entered the final stages of what has already been an unforgettable month, with just one week remaining before they return home.

Over the past fortnight, our three students, alongside Miss Carling, have continued to embrace every opportunity that this incredible experience has offered. From trekking through the Cambodian countryside, camping at a temple, watching breathtaking sunsets and sunrises at the world-famous Angkor Wat, to taking part in meditation with local monks, every day has brought new experiences and lifelong memories.

Alongside these cultural experiences has come some truly meaningful service. The students have worked tirelessly in challenging conditions, mixing cement, digging foundations, making bricks and helping to construct the first toilet and handwashing facilities for a local kindergarten. They have now moved on to a new project, creating concrete rings that will be used in the construction of wells and toilets, providing essential facilities for local communities.

The work has been physically demanding, carried out in intense heat, but by all accounts the students have shown outstanding resilience, teamwork and determination throughout. Miss Carling has spoken of how proud she is of the effort, commitment and attitude they have demonstrated every single day.

This visit has been about far more than travel. It has been an opportunity to serve others, experience a different culture, build lasting friendships and develop a deeper appreciation of life beyond our own community.

We are incredibly proud of all three students and of Miss Carling for representing Fisher More with such compassion, humility and dedication.

We look forward to following their final week in Cambodia and can’t wait to welcome them home to hear all about their remarkable journey.

💙🇰🇭 Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they complete the final week of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Thirty two of our Year 7–9 pupils and five members of staff visited the beautiful Northumberland coast for four days last week. We visited Craster Harbour, walked to Dunstanburgh Castle and Embleton Bay.

The next day we visited Bamburgh castle and played on the beach before heading to Lindisfarne. After that we visited Alnwick castle (famous for Harry Potter) and Alnmouth.

On the last day we explored Alnwick garden, with the water sculptures and maze before climbing the huge Lillidorei play structure.

A fabulous holiday with FM!

From 25 June to 1 September 2026, the Government is temporarily cutting VAT from 20% to 5% on children's meals in restaurants, children and family tickets to cinemas, theatres, concerts and exhibitions, and admission to a wide range of attractions.

Combined with free bus travel during August for children aged 5 to 15 in England, families and young people will be able to enjoy experiences that make summer special, including visits to the kinds of cultural and educational attractions that enrich children's lives outside the classroom.

Rising prices can make life's little treats harder to afford, especially during the school holidays when costs build up for families. This Government is determined to help, and that is why last month the Chancellor announced the Great British Summer Savings scheme.
