Young Pioneers Forest School Young Pioneers provides Forest School and Outdoor Education for areas in Wiltshire, Gloucester and Somerset.

We are able to run a variety of sessions in a woodland location near Colerne, Bath or we can visit you at your site.

Just finished listening to Akala's book, Natives and I'm so glad I have! There is a lot of learning to take from this book and I feel like on a first listen I only began to absorb a small part so I'm definitely going to have to listen again. He writes about current and historical events, many of which I had no idea about, that provide context for discussions about racism and particularly cultural perceptions of black people in British culture. Awesome book, really interesting and if you can get it on audible then you can listen to Akala as well

Tried to get all the kids to make a make a human outline out of sticks today. They were far more interested in going for a splash in the stream! I can often feel uneasy about abandoning structured sessions, but sometimes you've just got to let them get on with their own thing 🤷‍♂️
