Musical Tots

Musical Tots Musical Tots provides an opportunity for babies and pre-school children to have fun learning through singing and musical activity.

Musical Tots is a fun-filled, structured musical class which caters specifically for babies and toddlers. The children can have lots of fun singing and dancing to all their favourite nursery rhymes and lullabies. I also play the guitar during the class. They can enjoy using lots of props during the class. Especially popular are the animal puppets, coloured scarves, beanbags and the musical drum fi

lled with all sorts of musical instruments. Research has shown that children will "sing before they speak", so the class is also educational as they will learn all about counting, colours, the weather, body parts, animals and much more...Singing a wide range of songs will also help them to build up a wide ranging vocabulary. Just as important is the opportunity to use this fun-filled musical environment to boost your child's confidence and self esteem. We have play time at the start and end of each class, to encourage the children to have fun playing and sharing together. Musical Tots aims to be a useful stepping stone, helping each toddler to happily and confidently make the next transition into pre-school. Tea/coffee and a snack are also provided for parents/carers.

Well folks I guess it's time for another update.

Thank you all for the many messages and enquiries about my classes!!
Sadly I lost my mum recently and just not in a place to make a decision about returning to the music for now. 😔

I hope that our children are finally getting back to lots of fun play dates and that everyone is keeping well.

Take care & most importantly keep singing and laughing with your precious children.

I will update you again when I feel the time is right.

Much love,
Marion 😘

Hello everyone 👋
It has been a very long time since I last posted 🙈
Sadly, each time I have hoped Musical Tots could return to "normal" service, another hurdle has been placed 😢
The latest obstacle is ventilation in the room, which still restricts numbers to 21 in total (just not viable to run a class with only 9 kids max 😭)
However, let's not dwell on the negatives.... IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME!!!!!! 🎅🌲
Wishing you all a relaxing, fun-filled (with lotsa pressies 😉) Peaceful Happy Christmas 😘
Also 🙏 for a brighter New Year.

Much Love,
Marion xoxo

MUSICAL TOTS CLASS UPDATE!

Hi Everyone 👋

I just thought I would give you all a long overdue update on getting classes back up and running again.
I am now in receipt of "Risk Assessments" from management of Coleraine West Community Centre.
I have been given the green light to restart the classes, HOWEVER, there are changes to my Musical tots classes which currently make restarting very difficult.

The main change is that only 20 people IN TOTAL are allowed in the room at any one time. This means I could only accommodate 8 children maximum per class 😟

At present, as you may appreciate, the covid restrictions still in place mean it is not viable for me to run my classes with such low numbers, given the overheads involved. Various other restrictions (Adult social distancing, use of musical instruments and tea/coffee) all complicate running of the class further.

Sadly, for now, I do not think I have any option other than to hold off starting the classes until these restrictions are relaxed further 🙏.

Please feel free to contact me on 07865 052628 if you need any further clarification.

Regards,
Marion xx

Happiness is a State of Mind
Lots of people think children experience the world in pretty much the same way that we do, but they don't. They don't because their brain is still building itself so that it can 'run functions' which you and I take as normal-human, functions we ourselves had to develop and unfold when we were kids. The mind as you and I experience it, with it's endless chatter, is not fully up and running as a default until a child is seven. That makes the world of the young child much more like a meditation: they are present IN the experience instead of having their mind off somewhere else.

If we can't gather as a group for now then keep singing, dancing laughing and having fun with your child. It doesn't matter how well you sing...just that you sing together 😘

Children won't remember how "well" you sing...they'll just remember that you cared enough to sing with them.

Please let that RECONNECTION be soon 🙏

Mama,

I can’t see past you right now, I’m so small and everything’s a little blurry.

All I see is you.

When you feel alone, like the walls are closing in, remember I’m here too. I know your world has changed and the days feel a little lonely. But they aren’t lonely for me.

You are my everything.

When you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing, you’re making it look easy to me. Even though we’re still getting to know each other, you know me better than anyone.

I trust you.

When you think some nights you’ll never sleep again, you will. We both will. But I’m scared right now. I promise I’m not manipulating you. I just need your smell and comfort. Do you feel that tug in your heart when we’re apart? I do too.

I miss you.

When you feel as if you’ve achieved nothing, please know, my cup has never been so full.
The days that get away on you will be some of my best memories of us playing together on the ground.

I love you.

When you feel like you don’t know who you are anymore, when you turn away from the mirror. That face will be the one I look to when I achieve something, the one I search for in a crowd. The reason for my first smile.

You’re perfect to me.

When you feel like the weight of it all is heavy in your heart, please know I’ve never felt lighter. Can I lay here with you a little longer?
I won’t always need you like this.

But I need you right now.

When you feel as if you have nothing left to give, when I see your hands outstretched at me, pleading. When we’re both crying. I wish I could talk, but I can’t.
If I could I would tell you,

There’s a reason I chose you.

I can’t see past you right now mama, because you are my world.
It will get bigger, soon enough.

But for now,
All I see is you..........................

I can think of a couple of my artistically talented tots who just loved to "scribble" on my signing in sheets each week. 😁 I still have those sheets with their names written alongside their creative artwork. It's always good to let them express themselves ..even if it only "looks" like scribbling to us. SOPHIA, I hope you are still doodling away til you're wee heart's content 😘

Missing all my Musical Tots so much 🥰

Scribbling! It’s not just nonsense.

In fact, it is SO important to embrace scribbling and recognize it as art and creativity! ⁣

Things caregivers can say:⁣
“I see you moving your hand in a circle.”⁣
“You are moving you hand so fast in a circle”⁣
“I see you lifting you hand up and down! That makes dots!”⁣
“You are holding a crayon.”⁣

Don’t stifle the scribble. Embrace it as the most important beginning to a wonderful relationship with literacy and creativity!
