After nine years of outstanding leadership, we bid a fond farewell to our Principal, Mrs Helen McDonnell, as she takes up her new post of Principal at St Patrick's and St Brigid's Primary School, Ballycastle.
During her time at St John's, Helen has shown unwavering dedication to the children, staff, parents and wider school community. Her commitment to providing the very best education and care for every child has left a lasting legacy.
Helen's departure was marked with a beautiful Mass in St John's Church, where Fr Farren, Parish Priest, and Connor Burns, Senior Teacher, paid heartfelt tribute to her exceptional leadership, commitment and service.
At her final Board of Governors meeting, Helen was presented with a leaving gift as a token of appreciation from the Governors, who expressed their sincere gratitude for everything she has done for the children and the entire St John's community. The Chair of Governors also congratulated Helen and all the staff of St John’s, on the superb ETI outcome, and made it clear how proud all the Governors are to be part of this school team at this time.
As Helen begins this exciting new chapter, we offer our warmest congratulations and every good wish for happiness and success in her new role.
