We are incredibly proud of all our students for their outstanding effort today. It was the perfect mix of high-spirited competition and genuine fun.

As we head into day two and the athletics events, please keep the following key details in mind:

Dress Code: Students who are actively competing tomorrow are welcome to come to school in their Five Acres PE kit.

Please ensure all kits align with our standard school uniform policy. A quick reminder that standard rules still apply—this includes no jewellery and no body art or ink drawings on the skin.

Due to potentially higher temperatures on Thursday afternoon, the PE department has made the decision to hold the track events in the morning, from 9am-11am. An area will be allocated for spectators on the grass next to the sports hall. We kindly ask that parents/carers arrive via the rear car park no earlier than 8:50am. Please note that there will be no seating, so please bring a blanket or chair to sit on if you wish.

The announcement we have all been waiting for…

🏆 Number One in the South West. A Moment of Pride for Five Acres High School. 🏆

Today is a day that every student, member of staff, parent, governor and supporter of Five Acres High School can celebrate.

We are incredibly proud to share the outcome of our latest full graded Ofsted inspection

⭐ Academic Achievement – Strong Standard
⭐ Attendance & Behaviour – Strong Standard
⭐ Curriculum & Teaching – Strong Standard
⭐ Inclusion – Strong Standard
⭐ Leadership & Governance – Strong Standard
🌟 Personal Development – Exceptional

The image below tells the story at a glance, but the meaning behind these judgements is even more powerful.
Under Ofsted's new inspection framework, a Strong Standard means that pupils are receiving an education that consistently meets high expectations, with effective teaching, an ambitious curriculum, positive behaviour, excellent attendance, inclusive practice and strong leadership all working together to help young people succeed.

Our Exceptional judgement for Personal Development is particularly special. This recognises the school's outstanding commitment to developing confident, respectful and ambitious young people beyond the classroom. It reflects the breadth of opportunities available to our students, the strength of our pastoral care, our academies & societies programme, careers education, character education programme, leadership opportunities, personal wellbeing and the culture we have created where every child is known, valued and encouraged to thrive.

We are immensely proud to say that Five Acres High School is currently the only school in the South West of England to have received an Exceptional judgement in any category under Ofsted's new inspection framework. This places Five Acres High School as the highest-rated school in the South West under the current framework. Not only that, to put this achievement in more context, only a handful of schools in the whole of the UK has an exceptionally rated personal development category.

Most importantly, this recognition belongs to our incredible students. Every lesson attended, every challenge embraced, every act of kindness shown and every ambition pursued has helped create the school that inspectors experienced. They are the reason this report is possible.

To our dedicated staff, thank you. Your professionalism, care, expertise and relentless commitment to giving every child the very best education have been recognised at the highest level. This report reflects the passion you bring to school every single day.

To our parents and carers, thank you for your continued trust and support. Education is strongest when schools and families work together, and this achievement belongs to our whole community.

If you are considering secondary school options for your child, we encourage you to read the report for yourself and compare it with others.

We will continue striving for excellence, ensuring every child who walks through our doors has the opportunity to flourish academically, personally and socially.
