Today year 4 entered two teams in a local cricket competition. Children were amazing, showcasing great cricket skills, winning some games, and showing great sportsmanship throughout!

Community Ground Force Day

📅 Saturday 11th July 2026

We are calling on our local community to come together and help improve our school grounds as we continue moving forward as Coalway Primary School.
We are looking for volunteers who can help with:
• Jet washing
• Cutting back bushes and tidying outdoor areas
• Improving the Reception outside area
• General outdoor maintenance and teamwork

Whether you can spare an hour or the whole day, your support would make a huge difference to our children and school community.

Congratulations to our Rugby Team who took part in a tag competition today! Winning 3 of the matches, all scoring a try and they all showed great sportsmanship!

Today, Years 3-6 were visited by Jamie Hammond, who is on tour promoting his new book - DRAGONFLARE - to schools. This was special for the Coalway children as today is the release day so they were the first children to touch the new book!
The new book gripped the children and some were found to be reading at various times and places throughout the day!
