Theatre Fun Academy is an independent, part time vocational school, with bases in South London and Colchester, Essex. We have been running highly successful drama workshops since October 1999. All classes and workshops are taug

ht by trained professional performers, with DBS clearance. We work in partnership a professional agency to offer suitable students professional performance opportunities
We offer weekly term time classes, holiday workshops, and a comprehensive 'In Schools' programme providing creative and magical performance opportunities for young people of all ages.We also work closely with Subtext Theatre, a professional theatre company. Acting
Benefits for those who participate in drama groups and acting activities are well documented. Drama classes help boost self confidence, communication skills and presentation skills. Drama can help focus the very bright and active, and help everyone to empathise with each other and to question and make sense of the world around us. Dance
Theatre Fun's dance and movement element is taught in such a way as to not alienate boys, who are often put off by dance. Dance and movement helps body awareness, spacial awareness, coordination and understanding of body language. Singing
Singing is taught in a non pressured way as many people enjoy singing in a group but fear singing on their own. As the students progress, their confidence grows and by the time they have have been with us for a short while, they are often mastering complex harmonies and volunteering to sing solos. All songs are chosen specifically for the different age groups and are both fun and challenging. We hope to foster a love of all aspects of theatre in our students, whether as performers or audience members and we regularly arrange optional theatre trips as well as performance opportunities. Private lessons are also available to help prepare students for drama & musical theatre scholarship awards. Successful students have gained entrance and/or scholarships places at

All our dance class are fully focussed on enjoyment of music and movement. Unlike most dance classes, our classes are not exam focused, but instead work on pure enjoyment of dance. This allows us to be more creative with our choreography and makes classes less stressful and repetitive.
For students who want to work towards exams we offer LAMDA exam coaching (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art)

Working children are fully supported and protected by strict regulation to ensure the child's well-being and education don't suffer.
