Wow wow what a morning we had yesterday my first Making it Real family event with our good friends at ClaireyPoppins and Karen Goodey Childminding !

Thank you so much for hosting us all Karen , I’m super proud all our ideas and our Early Writing adventure came to life.

We spoke about how important it is that all marks have meaning and we want the children to have big body movements, use of different tools to strengthen different hand muscles so that when they get to school they are ready to learn how to form letters correctly ✍️🖊️🎨🖌️⚖️🏃

Simple ideas presented to give parents the tools to do all this at home ❤️

We also made sure we had a parent information area showcasing University of Essex Babylab , Talk, Listen, Cuddle and Nourishing Our Future: Essex

We've been doing lots of planting together over the last few weeks. We have planted sunflower seeds 🌻 and pumpkin 🎃 seeds and shared the story "10 tiny seeds". We will see how big they grow, watch this space....
We've also enjoyed forest school 🌳
And flower arranging, learning new flower names 💐

This week is Childminder appreciation week.
I love being a childminder. I'm so pleased I took that step from nursery settings to working for myself.
As a home from home setting you really do get to know the children and their family well. I always say it's like having an extended family.
I'm lucky to have the support from Julie Hurley as my assistant and Karen Goodey, Shannon Wheeler local Childminders who I now consider as close friends.
The last 9 years have flown by. I look forward for making more memories.
