Alberto Costa MP recently visited Danemill Primary School and the children loved showing him all that they’ve achieved in their school to reduce their carbon emissions.
We’re so thrilled to be able to connect MPs with their young constituents !

Here’s a pic that made us all smile. 😊 The recently-installed system on East Morton CofE Primary School in West Yorkshire, part of the Bradford Diocese Acadamies Trust.
⚡️ Around 44kWp on the roofs here, which will provide the school with just under 40% of its energy needs and save an estimated 7 tonnes of CO2 in its first year. 🌱
🚗 That’s the equivalent of driving nearly 18,000 miles in an averaged-sized petrol car.
But it’s not just about the carbon and energy savings. We’ll be visiting the school again soon to deliver some engaging workshops on what their system is capable of and what it all means as part of the bigger picture 🌍☀️

We’ve got news…👀
We’ve officially partnered with to help schools across the UK decarbonise. ⚡️
As part of a £2.7m commitment by National Grid, we are working to help schools in areas of high economic deprivation cut their energy bills and their carbon emissions.
From today, we are welcoming applications from schools who’d like to meet their net zero goals and bring climate education to their pupils. 🌎
Two Birmingham schools, Ark Victoria and Ark Kings Academy are the first to benefit as they have saved more than £3,500 in the last month alone, with projected savings forecast to be more than £1.2m over the lifetime of the solar panels. ☀️
Head to the link in bio to read about this partnership in more detail and if you’re a school, to apply for funding today. 📝

📈 Climate change disrupts education for over 40 million children yearly. Both directly through the destruction of infrastructure and indirectly by exacerbating health issues and displacing communities.
💰 The solution? Investing in education can empower communities to adapt and build resilience against climate change by bolstering crucial skills such as problem-solving and risk perception.
💡 Success in protecting education from the worst effects of the climate crisis depends on 3 key levers:
📚Investing a greater share of climate finance in education
🗣️Using people and expertise to raise the profile of education in climate crisis talks, negotiations and policy decisions
🤝Fostering collaboration between education and climate partners.

🌻 As we embrace the spring season and all the fresh beginnings it brings, there’s no better time to explore the benefits of solar energy for your school.
☀️ With longer days and sunshine on the horizon, now is the ideal moment to harness the power of the sun and unlock incredible savings on your energy bills.
🌍 Not to mention with Earth Day around the corner, there is no better time to inspire students about the science and creativity of solar panels and their role in climate action.
Head to the link in our bio to make this a spring of sustainability:
☀️ Option 1: use our Panelizer to see the cost and carbon savings your school can generate by going solar.
💷 Option 2: learn how you can support a school near you go solar via the Community Benefit Society we work with.
📲 Option 3: Download our Education app and embark on a sustainability learning journey of your own!

We can’t always see the sun, but we know it’s there behind the clouds 🌞🌥️. And sometimes, we can’t see solar panels either. But on this occasion we know they’re there, as they were installed by our team . We love this shot taken last week at Henry Maynard Primary School in Walthamstow. Steve and Dean from Premier are here with children from Henry Maynard’s Eco Team who have joined our growing community of schools to have gone solar 🌞
‘It’s been so exciting watching it all unfold’ the Environmental Lead and Year 3 class teacher, Ann-Marie, told us.

Our Education team in action at Ark King’s Academy in Birmingham for British Science Week. 💡
In their workshop with Year 5 they assigned job roles to students and asked them to experiment with the Solar Explorer Kit.
They soon had a structural engineer managing the solar panels, a meteorologist studying the impact of weather and an electrician monitoring the output! ⚡
This is just one example of how we empower students with hands-on education to foster green skills for tomorrow. 🌍 🌿 To support a school near you and help students learn today to lead tomorrow head to the link in bio!

Next up at British Science Week: Ark Victoria Academy in Birmingham. 🏫📚
Our in house Education team delivered an assembly to Year 10 and two workshops for Year 8 and 10 respectively on solar energy. The students got to use our Solar Explorer Kits to better understand how the solar panels on their roofs work. They also got to fly a drone to look at their roofs and document their school’s decarbonisation journey. 📉 🌍
Education is the key to innovation and climate change is one of the most urgent issues of our time. By educating the next generation, we are imparting them with the skills needed for a green and just world. To help a school near you go solar, head to the link in bio.

With British Science Week well under way, a few of the Solar for Schools team enjoyed a very welcoming visit at St Margaret’s C of E Primary yesterday. Full of sunshine and smiles, despite the rain.
Solar ambassador, Danielle, delivered an energetic workshop to Years 1, 2 and reception on… energy! ⚡️It didn’t matter that the sun wasn’t shining outside, as we have clever demo lights which simulate the sun on our Solar Explorer Kits and a solar circuits from our pals at Bright Sparks.
All in all, a wonderfully energising afternoon, meeting so many eager children, asking lots of great questions. The future is bright 🌟💡
