We couldn’t be prouder of our amazing Jess! 💜

After all the hard work, commitment, challenges and determination, she has achieved her DofE Gold Award! 🏆✨

It’s been incredible watching her take on every challenge, push herself out of her comfort zone and keep going even when things got tough. From volunteering and learning new skills, to the physical challenges, expeditions and residential, She has given it her all.

Jess, you should be incredibly proud of yourself. We certainly are! 💜

Congratulations on achieving your DofE Gold Award 🎉

Our Clever Creators have been busy creating their very own autumn trees! 🍂🌳

They were provided with a tree template and a selection of felt-tip pens, and were encouraged to dab the pens onto cotton pads using whichever colours they chose. This was a wonderful opportunity to practise and demonstrate their pincer grip skills.

The children then carefully dripped water onto the cotton pads using a spoon and watched in awe as the ink spread and blended across the pads. It was magical to see the colours change and transform, creating beautiful, unique autumn trees! 🌳🍁

We loved watching our Clever Creators explore colour, practise their fine motor skills and enjoy the wonder of the changing patterns 💜

⭐ Happy Nanna-Versary, Lauren Wroe! ⭐
Today we’re celebrating an incredible 10 years of dedication, care, and excellence at Nanna’s Day Nurseries. What a fantastic achievement! 🏆

🍂 Forest School 🍂

This week at forest school, we have continued exploring the season of autumn through a range of seasonal activities. The children have been noticing the changes happening all around them in the forest, from the changing colours of the leaves to the chestnuts and acorns appearing on the forest floor. 🌰

The children made leaf wands, learning to identify different types of autumn leaves including sweet chestnut and oak. 🍁

They also made natural paints using turmeric and beetroot, where we mixed the natural powders with water and then tested them out on paper using natural paintbrushes like feathers and sticks! 🪶

Some of the children also enjoyed exploring the stream too, where they splashed in their wellies and threw stones into the water to make ripples. 💧

Today, our Incredible Inventors got creative with autumn leaves, paint and conkers! 🍂 🎨

The children carefully dipped the conkers into colourful paint before using a spoon to gently place them into a tray on top of their leaf pictures

They then used their physical skills and coordination to move the trays from side to side, watching with excitement as the conkers rolled around and created wonderful marks, patterns and prints on the paper!

It was lovely to see the children developing their hand-eye coordination, control and problem-solving skills while exploring movement, colour and mark-making through this exciting process! 💜

🍂 Forest School 🍂

This week marked the official start of autumn, with the autumn equinox taking place on Wednesday! They embraced the new season with some autumn themed activities including mud painting with autumn stencils, weaving autumn leaves onto tree templates, and heading off on a nature hunt using their checklists. 🔎🍁

They also enjoyed some bug hunting, where they discovered mini beasts including beetles, centipedes and a woodlouse! The mud kitchen was a big hit too, with the children creating lot of lovely creations including birthday cakes with feather candles, leaf soup and plenty of muddy tea! 🎂☕️
