☀️ While most of us are enjoying our summer holidays, for some people, bright sunlight can be a trigger for migraine.
Light sensitivity, or photophobia, is a common feature of migraine. Visual signals from the eyes are processed through areas of the brain involved in sensory processing — and for a migraine-sensitive brain, bright or intense light can sometimes become overwhelming.
But that doesn’t mean sunlight is the enemy. 🌿
Natural morning light also plays an important role in regulating your circadian rhythm, supporting healthy sleep patterns and helping your body know when to feel awake and when to wind down.
🧠 As with so much in migraine management, it’s about understanding your individual threshold, recognising your triggers and finding the right balance.
So enjoy the sunshine — but listen to what your brain is telling you. 💛

🧠 When we talk about migraine, nutrition isn’t just about what you eat — it’s about what your cells can actually use.
B vitamins play an important role in energy production, mitochondrial function and methylation, all of which can influence how effectively our brain cells function.
💊 Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), in particular, has been studied for migraine prevention, with evidence suggesting it may help reduce migraine frequency in some people.
But B vitamins aren’t all about B2. B6, B9 and B12 are involved in methylation, while elevated homocysteine can sometimes provide a clue that this process isn’t working optimally.
The key? Understand your individual biology rather than simply adding more supplements.
📚 We explore B vitamins, methylation, mitochondrial health and much more inside the Beyond Migraine Individual Home Learning Pathway.

🧠 Is your neck, jaw or even your teeth contributing to your migraine?
Migraine is rarely caused by a single factor. For many people, dysfunction in the neck, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) or dental health can increase the amount of sensory information entering the brain's pain pathways, making migraine attacks more likely.
In this on-demand webinar, Dr Wayne Elphinstone explores the important role these often-overlooked areas can play in migraine and why a truly comprehensive approach to treatment matters.
You'll discover:
💆 How neck dysfunction and poor posture can contribute to migraine.
🦷 Why TMJ disorders are strongly associated with migraine.
😁 The impact of teeth grinding, bite alignment and dental health on headache and migraine.
🤝 Why collaboration between chiropractors, dentists, osteopaths and other healthcare professionals can lead to better patient outcomes.
Understanding migraine means looking beyond the head. By identifying and addressing the factors that may be driving your individual pain pathways, you can help reduce the frequency and severity of attacks.
