Three Venues, One Weekend

Tonight's the night! ✨️

Here at Colchester Makerspace, we will be kicking off The Big Colchester Christmas Market weekend! We will be open from 6pm for our Christmas Party with . Alongside all of our wonderful stallholders that we have promoted these past few weeks, the fabulous will also be joining us to keep you all entertained.

Join us for a mulled wine and a mince pie. It's going to be a very merry time!

We can't believe that it's only one day until we kick off the big festive weekend! With only one day to go, we'd like to introduce the last of our fabulous stall holders. The following makers will only be joining us on the Friday night, so if their goods are what you're after, shimmy on over to our Christmas Party with Patch to secure a piece of handcrafted magic! ✨️

For one night only, we have Kieran! I'm sure most of you will recognise him as one of the wonderful chefs from Patch, but in his spare time Kieran loves to get on the wheel and has become a glazing wizz amongst the Makerspace community!

Next up, we have Claire. Another of our fantastic print makers from the space, we can't wait to see what Claire has been up to!

Lastly, we have Daniela. This time Daniela is bringing some extra festive goods to the market, blessing the atrium for one night only with her lovely, handmade, Christmas wreaths.

Only two days to go until we kick off the big festive weekend, and we'd like to introduce a few more of our fabulous stall holders!

First up, we have Heidi. A familiar face at Makerspace, you may have seen her teaching a workshop or two, but in her spare time, she loves to draw and print. Come and say hello and see what she's been up to!

Next up, we have Bev. Bev is a mixed media artist who loves to explore and play with different processes. Anything from textiles to cyanotypes, Bev is sure to have something for you!

Lastly, we have Loui. When working in the space, Loui predominantly works with clay, however, they are famous for their crocheting and often likes to bring these two crafts together. Pop in and see what Loui has been up to for yourself!

First up, we have The Local Type, aka, Robbie and Billy. With backgrounds in Graphic Design, they both love type and are bringing a new lease of life to lettering from different locations across the country.

Next up, we have Charie. Charlie works in all different forms, including print and ceramics, and is certain to have made something that makes you smile!

Lastly, we have Edith. Another of our wonderfully multi-talented makers, Edith enjoys exploring printmaking and ceramics alike.

With just five days until we kick off the big festive weekend, we'd like to introduce a few more of our fabulous stall holders!

First up, we have Sophie. A crafter of delicate and beautiful lino prints inspired by nature and the power of femininity.

Next up, we have Lucy. Lucy creates beautifully thrown forms that take on gorgeous curvy shapes and glazes them with subtle, natural colours.

Lastly, we have Joey, another of our fabulous ceramists. Joey enjoys exploring different ceramic forms, creating both functional and decorative pieces. They have been working away tirelessly in the studio, and we can't wait to see what they have been up to!

The countdown is on! It is officially seven days until we kick off the big festive weekend with our Christmas Party collab with Patch! Get in the Christmas spirit and come and say hello to some of our fabulous members.

Introducing Zeb! Zeb's a prolific printmaker in the space and his work is a combination of psychedelic, silly and endlessly charming. We can't wait to see what he has on offer!

Next up, we have Pirjo. Predominantly a hand builder, Pirjo is well known for her ceramic sheep and chickens, but she's much more than that. Come along and find out for yourself!

Lastly, we have Kellie. Another of our fabulous ceramists, Kellie loves creating both functional and decorative pieces. She will have plenty of wonderful pieces on offer, so come and see what she has been making for yourself.

First up we have collage extraordinaire, Corrina. Interested in exploring the themes of nostalgia in a charming and playful way, Corrina creates new worlds for you to get lost in.

Next up, we have Mazania, one of the ceramists joining us for the weekend. Inspired by nature, she enjoys creating functional yet decorative pieces to adorn your home.

Lastly, we have Norma, a crafter of wonderful and whimsical ceramics, sure to bring a sprinkle of Christmas magic to your home.

With less than two weeks to go until the ultimate Christmas Party collaboration with our wonderful neighbours at , the Makerspace Christmas Market countdown begins!

Starting off today, we introduce some of the ceramists.

First up, we have the lovely Fiona, whose work is undeniably charming and witty with its illustrative influence.

Next up, we have Marie, queen of delicious shaped ceramics with the smoothest bottoms around (if you know, you know).

Finally, we have Mina, crafting tiny ceramics on her own mini wheel. She has perfected the art beautifully and really captures the essence of 'good things come in small packages'.
