Reposted from In the Hindu tradition, worshipers of Visnu, recognise the cosmic egg (also known as the golden womb) which is said to emerge from the worlds ocean at the beginning of the ever-recurring cycle of creation as a result of the friction produced by wind and water.

Visnu then enters the cosmic egg and, after a period of inactivity, the creator Brahma is born from his navel. With this, the creation of the manifest universe begins.

The Rig Veda has the Sanskrit word Hiranyagarbha which translates as golden womb or golden fetus.
In the Upanishads it is said that the Hiranyagarbha floated around in the dark void for sometime and then broke into two halves which formed dyaus (heaven or father) and prithvi (earth or mother).

From everyone at Same Star Yoga HQ we would like to wish you a very special Easter break.

Reposted from Whenever I feel despair I always look to the gurus, masters and greatest influencers of our time.

Mahatma Gandhi who has inspired inspire non-violent movements for civil rights peace and freedom across the world said this, which I think we could all do with hearing right now.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it–always.”

Reposted from Many people who start yoga do it for a work out but after a few years of practice or on embarking on a teacher training you begin to realise that it’s more of a work in….

If listening deeply and following up your teachers guidance with Self enquiry you begin to come face to face with your shadows, your unconscious judgements and beliefs, you begin to bear witness to all of the times you don’t speak and act skilfully & suddenly you realise there is a whole great deal more that you don’t know about yourSelf.

We can liken this to Chapter 11 in the Bhagavad Gita when Lord Krishna grants Arjuna divine vision and reveals his spectacular boundless form as the cosmic universe.

Both magnificent and equally frightening which then becomes our experience there is both wonder and fear, bliss and grit.

This is a journey not for the faint of heart, this is why we interview our students for our YTT we want to know if there is an inner calling, a longing to discover truth. If there is, then we know without doubt this is the right path and we know that they will all support one another along the way and that the most wondrous of deep heart connections will be made.

Before any training do your research meet your teachers above all listen to your heart ‘the lead teacher’ in all there is to discover about you ❤️

Tansy is a tenacious wildflower that thrives in the English Countryside and I definitely feel like I embody this flower as well as being named after her.

NATURE CONNECTION & THERAPY
I grew up in a tiny village so my passion for Nature has been imprinted on me from a young age. It wasn't until I went through some darker times of my own that I began to realise the healing power of Nature. I began to ‘walk myself’ to soothe feelings of anxiety, depression and disconnection. I found myself intuitively practising mindfulness as I paid close attention to my surroundings and felt a sense of calm and connection to myself and the Nature around me. My experience with Nature has had such a profound affect on my life it made total sense to train in modalities that utilise Nature for wellbeing and personal growth and I am now a Certifed Forest Bathing Guide and Natural Mindfulness Guide Over the years of deepening my connection to Nature and myself I have gained so much insight and love walking alongside others on their own journey of discovery.

I am a People Walker.
I walk by your side through nature and
inspire you to reflect on your true purpose
and rewild your journey.

Join Tansy at her ReWild YourSelf Session on Sunday 27th March and get a taster of what’s to come in the spring/summer months ahead with Tansy Same Star Yoga]

Reposted from Contemplate for a moment your life.....

Imagine it as if it were a flower, marvel at its uniqueness, consider this for a moment.....

Never will there EVER be anyone that comes close to your own special & unique flowering. Never will anyone dance the same steps as your unique dance of life.

Yes with all flowerings when there is darkness the flower closes, we all experience darkness in some form, a time when the flower knows to go back to the bud, close all it's petals and rest in stillness, a time too where we understand the need to connect back to our essential self, re-find value in ourselves so that we can find the energy to share our uniqueness and gifts with the world once again.

The world and other flowerings will admire your flowering so make sure you admire your flowering too.

If you were a flower what would you be?

Reposted from After two years of restraint to be able to get dressed up and let loose for a couple of hours was greatly welcomed by our kula.

Not only that, stepping on to your mat with the knowing that what you are doing is an act of seva sparks a light inside far greater than any light you’ll find on the outside.

This month all proceeds will be going to an incredible charity uniting yoga practitioners across the globe to take a stand against and support those in south india who have been affected by human trafficking.

Next month all proceeds are going to The Ukraine.

Last month this event booked out within a week, we hope you can join us in our monthly pursuit to pay it forward to those in need.

Don’t focus on the negative, think of what you can do and what millions of others are doing around the globe that is positive and seek to support any way that you can.

Reposted from The Yoga Sutras of Patañjali are an integral part of our 250hr multi discipline YTT

Indian author Swami Veda Bharati once said

“If all the vast traditions of India’s philosophies & literatures were to vanish and the yoga sutras of Patañjali alone were to be saved, each of those philosophies & literatures could in time be created again.”

Our TT’s are embarking on their first assignment.

Many of our graduates have said that initially it was a hard task but after time spent with this text their own discovery’s & sharing with fellow students that the experience had been revelatory and illuminating.

Do you have a favourite? One that has stuck with you. In jivamukti this month we are spending time with sutra 2:15 which is definitely one of my favourites!!
