Success!!! Two days, two games & two wins!
On Wednesday the year 11 boys travelled to Alpha Trust rivals The Gilberd in the NEESA football semi finals and after a hot and dogged performance, came away 0-1 winners!!!! Congratulations boys, final up next!
Today our year 8s prevailed 2-6 winners against Thurstable! Having not played in 2024 the boys produced a fabulous performance! More to come from this lot!!

Our new clubs are out! Our focuses have changed, girls football and boys rugby! GCSE students, trampolining club will now start on a Wednesday lunch. And big up basketball, boys and girls opportunities on a Thursday and Friday as we prepare for fixtures. All are invited and all are welcome! We look forward to seeing you!

Good evening! Our new clubs list is out! We have lots of clubs for our pupils to enjoy.
We also have lots of fixtures coming up in the next few months.
If you're interested in representing the school in football and netball, please attend the clubs if you can. We can also select teams from our PE lessons; so don't worry if you cannot attend clubs!

Below are the recent sporting results and the upcoming fixtures!
⚽️🏉 Wednesday 22nd February saw MHS take on Harwich in Girls Football and Boys Rugby matches! 🏉⚽️
Year 7 Girls Football:
The girls secured a win in their first ever football game at MHS! A fantastic performance saw the girls run out as 2-1 winners. An excellent start to football at MHS for the girls!

U14 Girls Football:
A battling performance saw the girls suffer a 4-0 defeat. Never losing their heads or their fighting mentality, the girls continue to show fantastic resilience and sportsmanship.

Year 7 Rugby:
The boys worked their socks off and put in a fantastic performance for their first game at MHS. A solid game saw them run out as 13-1 winners! Some fantastic tries were scored and phenomenal teamwork was displayed on the night.

In a newly formed team, many of whom haven't played together before, the girls played a fantastic game, displaying fantastic teamwork, excellent defending and some superb finishing.

A team that just gets better and better each time they play together! An incredible display of battling defending, exceptional finishing and a masterclass in midfield saw the girls come away with a 5-0 win.

⚠️PROUD DEPARTMENT ALERT!!!⚠️
🏃♀️🏃 CROSS COUNTRY ACHIEVEMENTS! 🏃🏃♀️
On Saturday 21st January, four students from MHS represented North Essex in Cross Country at Writtle in Chelmsford. There were some phenomenal results throughout the day, and all the runners did MHS proud.
YEAR 8 -
W.Allinson - 19th out of 54 runners (race time - 17:49)
YEAR 10 -
E.Newman - 30th out of 53 runners (race time - 18:17)
J.Izzet - 15th out of 55 runners (race time - 19:20)
D.Powell - 36th out of 55 runners (race time - 20:49)

On Wednesday 8th February, the Year 7 and 8 Essex Cross Country Championships were held at Writtle in Chelmsford, and this competition saw two extraordinary students represent both North Essex and MHS in the competition.
YEAR 7 -
E.Foster - 41st out of 205 runners! (race time - 14:45 - 3000m)
YEAR 8 -
W.Allinson - 4th out of 246 runners!!! (race time - 12:55 - 3600m)
An excellent run and outstanding time from Will now sees him move onto represent Essex and MHS in the Intercounties Championships in March! We look forward to hearing about Will's success in this race!

UPDATED CLUBS LIST FOR SPRING TERM!
Fixtures have been set and organised, they begin the week AFTER February half term. Students will be sent home with permission slips if they have successfully made the team!
