Supporting a child with additional needs on their toilet training journey?
Toilet training can feel overwhelming, especially when your child needs extra support. The good news is that nearly all children can learn to be clean and dry. It may take longer and look different for every child, but it's an important life skill that can make a big difference to their independence and confidence.
That's why ERIC has created a helpful advice sheet packed with practical guidance for parents and carers, including:
๐ต Where to start
๐ต Spotting and managing constipation
๐ต Keeping the bladder healthy
๐ต Toilet training older children
๐ต Considering what extra support may help
๐ต Practical tips to help you get started with toilet training

Itโs scary to think that something youโd buy your child to keep them safe could do the very opposite.
But many swim vests, life jackets and buoyancy aids sold on online marketplaces come from abroad and havenโt been safety tested to our standards. This makes them a serious drowning risk.
Please opt for well-known brand names and retailers if you can. Always be cautious when shopping online and remember to check who is selling the item and where they are based.
Plus, don't forget drowning happens quickly and quietly. So an adult needs to actively supervise children in and around water all the time.
