A huge well done to Harrison Gibbs in Year 8, who has been publicly recognised by the National Trust for his fantastic fundraising efforts in support of their Wildfire Appeal.

Over the summer, Harrison walked more than 33 miles, including a challenging four-hour hike from Snape Maltings to RSPB Minsmere, helping to raise funds for this important cause.

We are incredibly proud of his commitment and achievement. 👏🚶🌿

We are pleased to introduce our Oxbridge Coaching Programme for Year 11 students, supporting their aspirations for both Post-16 and Post-18 pathways.
As part of our CEIAG provision, students receive expert guidance on personal statements, applications and university pathways.

It was a pleasure to welcome back former Head Boy, Alex Cottrell and former Head Girl, Holly Pulham, who shared their experiences and provided invaluable advice to students considering their next steps.

Thank you to both alumni for inspiring and supporting the next generation of students.

They have been elected as our new Year 10 Bite Back Leaders and will be helping prepare the team to introduce the Bite Back programme to Year 9 during their upcoming Drop Down Day.

🏅 Athletics Success for Mason! 🏅

Congratulations to Mason Partridge in Year 9, who represented Essex at the Eastern Combined Events Championships in Peterborough this weekend.

Competing in five events, Mason achieved new personal bests in the Shot Put and Long Jump, along with a season's best in the 800m. His fantastic performances earned him a Silver Medal for Essex, missing Gold by just 28 points.

Even more impressively, Mason finished 5th overall across all athletes from the six competing counties.

A brilliant achievement and one we are incredibly proud of. Well done, Mason! 👏

Due to the extremely high volume of interest, with nearly 400 students participating in the workshops, we are announcing an additional audition date.

As we embrace another exciting school year, we're fondly looking back on our Year 7 students' activity-filled week at Danbury Camp at the end of the summer term.

🏕️Our students embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and determination, growing in confidence and making memories that will last a lifetime.

It was fantastic to see new friendships formed, existing ones strengthened, and students supporting one another throughout the week. 🤝

We were incredibly proud of the maturity, kindness and respect they showed, representing the school brilliantly.

A fantastic week of adventure, teamwork and personal growth. Well done to everyone involved! 🎉

📚 Yesterday, we held our Freshers' Fayre, where Year 7 and 8 students had the chance to discover the fantastic range of Co-Curricular opportunities available at The Gilberd School.

It was wonderful to see so many students exploring new interests and signing up to get involved. We look forward to seeing students making the most of these opportunities over the coming weeks. 🎉

A huge thank you to the staff and student helpers who invested so much time and enthusiasm into showcasing our Co-Curricular offer and making the event such a success. 👏

It was fantastic to welcome so many prospective families to our Open Evening yesterday.

If you were unable to attend, we are pleased to be offering additional morning tours on Friday 18th September and Tuesday 22nd September.
