We enjoyed a baking activity where we used yoghurt and bananas to make a delicious frozen banana yoghurt ,The children helped to mash and cut the bananas and mix the ingredients. This activity supported all 7 Areas of Learning in the EYFS. Communication and Language was developed through discussions about the ingredients and cutting the bananas. Physical Development was encouraged through stirring, pouring, and cutting. Personal, Social and Emotional Development was supported as children took turns and worked together. Literacy was promoted by looking at recipes and discussing key words such as "banana" and "yoghurt". Mathematics was explored through measuring ingredients. Understanding the World was developed as children explored the ingredients and learned how to safely cut them. Expressive Arts and Design was encouraged through creativity and exploring different textures, smells, and even had to taste test the banana .

The babies have been exploring and learning about summer the passed weeks , through a variety of sensory , outdoor activities and arts and crafts . They enjoyed water play, exploring sand, feeling different summer textures, and spending time outdoors observing nature and warm weather changes. The children showed curiosity as they splashed, poured, and investigated materials, while also developing their communication skills by responding to familiar words and sounds linked to summer experiences , like eg ' water , sand , star fish . These activities supported the seven areas of learning by enhancing their Communication and Language through interactions and discussions; Physical Development through water play, pouring, and movement; Personal, Social and Emotional Development through sharing resources and building confidence; Literacy through listening to summer-themed stories and songs; Mathematics through exploring concepts such as full, empty, and size; Understanding the World by observing seasonal changes and Expressive Arts and Design through sensory exploration, creative play, and summer-themed artwork.

Happy national bee day 🐝 Today in the preschool room, we celebrated national bee day. We had yellow and black rice out in the tuff tray with some bee numbers to practice our mini maths skills. We recognised the numbers, we also matched some numbers, and we counted each bee individually. We also practised pouring the rice into bowls and filling and emptying them. We then practised our clever creator skills by painting a potato black and yellow and printing it on the paper to make some bees!

Messy time 🖌 in the preschool room! Today the children wanted something messy to play with so we made some sticky gloop. The children were terrific talkers with using there sences by using describing words about what they could feel, see and hear, 'It's so sticky', 'it looks like porridge', 'yuck look at my hands, they are so dirty. We also incorporated our mini math skills by counting how many spoonfuls we were putting into the bowls, the children also used there fine motor skills with there hand and eye coordination to poor the gloop from one bowl to another. #

In the preschool room, the children showed an interest in volcanos. They made their own volcano in the sand in the free flow garden. We followed the childrens interests by practising our super scientist skills, and we did a volcano science experiment. We put some bicarbonate of soda in with some washing up liquid and some food colouring to make the red lava. We then mixed vinegar in to make the volcano errupt. We was terric talkers by talking about how the volcano looked and that the lava is hot a bubbling!

In the preschool room, we have a new story of the month... The veg patch party. The children then wanted to be clever creators and make their own musical instruments. We coloured cups in and added rice to make shakers. We also painted some boxes and added elastic bands to make our own guitars. We then made our own band and used our music maestros skills by singing some songs along with the musical instruments!
