This week on our meet the team series we introduce Victoria who is currently our longest serving member of staff having notched up 28yrs.
Victoria’s role here at AFC is Operations Manager and Ground Crew (occasionally also makes the tea ).
As well as this she is a familiar voice on the radio and heads up the IER team who are ever ready to leap into action should an incident ever occur on the airfield.
When asked what was the best bit about working here at Anglian Flight Centres she seemed to mumble a bit and I couldn’t quite hear her, but I am pretty certain she was saying something nice about me 😊.
So next time you come to see us at Anglian Flight Centres, Earls Colne Airfield say "Hi" to Victoria and perhaps ask her what she really did say!

It’s a little “windy” here at the airfield. Today we have a “Hurricane” (G-HURI) parked up whilst it rests its wings after an EPIC journey to Poland and back as part of the Polish Heritage Flight.

Moving onwards with our meet the team series, this time we introduce flight instructor Tony Barber.
Tony who has been flying aircraft since 1997 is one of the brood of flight instructors here at Anglian Flight Centres. Tony has a whole load of experience under his belt, and holds a commercial pilots licence, whilst also being an LAA coach.
Since starting as an instructor at Anglian Flight Centres in 2010, he has helped many a student work their way through to gaining their pilots licence.
As well as instructing here on the Anglian Flight Centres fleet of school aircraft, Tony often helps existing pilots upskill their abilities on their own aircraft or helps to convert pilots onto new and varied aircraft types.
When asked what he loves most about instructing at Anglian Flight Centres he replied “its because the owner is such a nice guy”. So, its my great pleasure to announce Tony has been voted without any bias from me INSTRUCTOR OF THE MONTH. 😊
Come and give us visit here at Earls Colne Airfield if you want to know more about flying a light aircraft. We look forward to seeing you

This week in the meet the team series, we introduce flight instructor Liz Russell.
Liz is a very popular instructor here at Anglian Flight Centres, teaching students in our fleet of Robin HR200 aircraft and the Cessna 172.
In the past Liz has also instructed on gliders, motor gliders, tug planes and microlights, and still gets a thrill from seeing a customer smile after their first trial flight.
As well as instructing, Liz also likes to fly for pleasure and in her own words…..
”I love touring the country and going further afield. Seeing the Lake District from above on a gin-clear day is breathtaking, and I never tire of popping down to the Isle of Wight or over to Le Touquet for lunch. Best of all, I still learn something new from every single flight. The journey continues!”.
So its very clear that Liz is incredibly passionate about aviation…….and lunch 😊
Fancy giving aviation go? Then come and see us here at Anglian Flight Centres, Earls Colne.
