For a long time, I genuinely thought I didn’t belong in the nail industry.

I didn’t look like the people I saw online.
I didn’t have the “right” salon aesthetic.
I didn’t do the same kind of nails.
I was older.
I was neurodivergent.
I swore too much. 😂
And despite years of experience, I had (and still have) a spectacular case of imposter syndrome.

But eventually I realised something…
There isn't actually a rulebook for what a nail tech is supposed to look like, sound like or be like.

Your salon can be black glitter and neon sausage dogs in cowboy hats.

You can specialise in outrageous nail art.

You can be quiet, loud, quirky, anxious, confident, introverted, extroverted, 20, 40, 60…

You can be completely unlike the person next to you.

And you can STILL be bloody brilliant at what you do.

That’s something I really want my students to understand.

When you train with me, I’m not trying to turn you into another version of me or another version of the nail techs you see on Instagram.

I want you to become the best version of YOU.

Because the thing you think makes you different might actually be the thing that makes you memorable.

So if you've been thinking “I don't really fit in with the nail industry”…
Maybe you don't need to fit in.
Maybe you just need to find your place in it. ❤️
