Have you?🙈
🎟️Hold off booking!
You’re amped up on motivation or anger
But you’ve just spent a huge amount of time narrowly focusing on the event you just did
The brain needs a minute to relax, reflect and recharge
It feels counterintuitive but all too often clients jump right back in only to feel a bit burnt out a few weeks later
👍🏼A great rule of thumb is to save all those events in the noted on your phone. Give yourself 10 days, then look again
🍝🛌🐎 Performance in a race has very little to do with your ex*****on of the race
Your performance is massively impacted by your training, taper, sleep, nutrition, strategy, race day conditions and then your exectuion
Too often the sole focus of race reflection is spent on things like pacing or performance in a particular section of the event
Start with a look back at the training block, then assess how optimised race week was, how realistic your goal and strategy was… then with that context in mind assess your performance
💪🏼You nailed it! You’re right where you should be
It’s human nature to look for flaws and want for more
But sometimes we need to just be honest with ourselves
More often than not you actually made the best of what you had! You put in the very best performance you could have
And sure, if you were a full time athlete with no job or kids you could have, would have… stop
Pat yourself on the back, be proud of the effort you have and soak up the progress you made in training!
