Last week we hosted here for pre season testing with the 1st team players.

It took a full team of our staff and students to test the full squad for a series of strength and power tests!

We are thanking Frontrunner placements Olivia and Ben!

Olivia chose to study after visiting the HPU with her school!

During placement, Ben and Olivia supported the delivery of school taster sessions, inspiring the next generation of sports practitioners

Our Thursday student showcase is Yoyo, who has just finished her 10-week placement at our .

Yoyo says - ‘I believe this placement could help me to be more competitive amongst my peers and it helped me to understand more about the working environment of the sports industry.’

Ellen is another of our fantastic students on a Frontrunner placement. She is in the 2nd Year of a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science.

Ellen says - ‘This placement was an amazing opportunity to develop skills for future careers in a sports environment. The opportunity to develop without judgement allowed me to confidently get involved in this placement. It has helped me to understand how to gather data in a professional setting, helping towards my aim of a future career in data analysis.’

This term, we have been hosting students on 10-week placements as part of the Frontrunner programme.

Shanie is studying for an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology and is also a part of , playing in the football team.

Shanie says - ‘I chose the placement at the HPU because it would allow me to put some of the knowledge I have learned in the classroom into practice. This placement helps me to understand more concretely how sport science can help athletes maximise their performance and how working in a high performance environment looks like.’

The University of Essex are screening the play ‘Dear England’ tomorrow.
