Goodbye to our fantastic week 2 children!

What a privilege it is to be trusted to give these kids a holiday in Romania.
We love hosting summer camp in Romania for these Ukrainian kids.

This year we have received incredible sponsorship from friends all over the world, which means we are able to treat these kids to a really special holiday. Without our sponsors we simply would not be able to run these summer holidays.

Another week, another fantastic group of volunteers!

Our last volunteers left today and we already miss them like crazy!

Some of them have been here for 2 weeks, serving the children at both camps, some arrived as the kids did!
We could never explain the blessing the CitD volunteers are to the work we are able to do in Romania and Ukraine. Without them, nothing would be possible.

The children loved them being here… and so did we!

Yesterday we got to bring 4 of our adults from Casa lumina over to the temporary pool that we have set up summer camp.

We had so much fun, the splashing was on another level but it was fantastic.

Thank you so much to the incredible organisation who gave us a grant to purchase the pool, it’s benefited far beyond summer camp, Casa lumina love it too!

Summer camp would not run without those who make the choice to come to Romania, dedicate their time, and give a little piece of their hearts to the children who attend.

Our week one team was made up of CitD summer veterans and some new comers, each of them got stuck in, held space for those we work with and contributed to our successful week!

Ukrainian Summer camp in Romania, week one, over and out!

We have had some amazing children come back to visit us this year, along with 5 new friends who had never been to summer camp with CitD.
We are so excited to have been able to offer this holiday for Ukrainian children for the fifth year now.

We were so blessed having them live with us here in Romania for a week.

Please pray for these children and their families in Ukraine.

Introducing Anna-Maria.
Our new director at Casa Lumina.

After the wonderful Alex moved on earlier this month we are thrilled to have met our new lady in charge!

Anna Maria has come full circle, as in an amazing turn of events she was actually one of the original translators and met the children in Doftana 28 years ago.
She is passionate about our young people, their quality of life and continuing to provide a home full of love and fun!
Welcome to our family Anna-Maria, we can’t wait to work with you more!

What a day 🚲

A huge thank you to our six incredible cyclists who rode 125 miles in one day yesterday.
From coast to coast they kept going, giving the best attitudes all day long.

Thank you to each and every one of you who came and took part, thank you to the sponsors who have sponsored them for this challenge.

What will the next challenge be?

What an achievement.

These 5 men have cycled from Bucharest to Comanesti in 3 days.

They have climbed the Carpathian Mountains, twice! Been blown sidewise by the wind and had to keep their eyes peeled for a wild bear 🐻!
But they have not stopped, they have cycled to strong and so fast and they have raised an incredible amount for CitD and the work being done in Romania and Ukraine.

Great work gents! Rest up now :) 🚲 ⛰️ 🇷🇴

They have worked so hard on the renovation works at Casa Lumina, we simply couldn’t have done this work without them. Some of them came with skills and some of them came ready to learn…. Each one of them has made a huge difference.
