If anyone with a child on the green team would like a photo taken with the sports day trophy, let Mr Goodey know on the gate after-school at pick-up time.
Last week, we had our annual sports day, and what a glorious day it was! The sun was shining, and it was wonderful to see everyone come together to enjoy the festivities. A huge well done to all the children; your sportsmanship and effort in every activity were commendable. A particular shout-out to the Green Team for earning the most points and winning the trophy—fantastic work! A big thank you as well to all the parents who came out to support.
Final points totals:
Green - 1222
Purple - 1155
Blue - 1105

Last week, we were extremely lucky to be joined by Leah McDerment, a professional athlete who plays basketball for the Essex Rebels. She shared her passion for the sport, discussing how she turned her love for basketball into a career, including her journey to securing a scholarship in America. We also participated in some fitness circuits—these were exhausting, and she definitely put us through our paces! Overall, we’re very grateful to Leah for visiting us. It was a fantastic day, and hopefully, we have some budding basketball players among us!

Sports day tomorrow (Thursday 10th July)!
If by some chance we have two or more teams tied on the same amount of points, higher placing will go to the team who scored the most points at station 1 (sack race), then station 2 (relay) etc.
Have a good evening.

In year 4 this term, we have been incredibly busy learning about the Ancient Egyptians. We have supported this history focus by using the, The Secrets of a Sun King and The Story of Tutankhamun books in our Reading and English as well as focusing on Ancient Egyptian sources for our art projects. Through our art we have made our own versions of papyrus decorated with hieroglyphs as well as creating our own cartouches.
In Math, we have been focusing on shape, coordinates and symmetry, which has fed, into our Geography where we have been looking at Ordnance Survey maps and have been honing our field research skills.
In PE, we have been striking and fielding which has been almost as electric as our study of circuits, resistors and conductors in science, where we have also enjoyed making our own switches.
