Jump ring, close, solder, REPEAT …

Good light and two pairs of parallel pliers are essential kit when you start making handmade chain.

Good eyesight is pretty essential too, so we have lots of pairs of magnifying glasses and optivisors to choose from.

You have to be able to see clearly what you are doing at all stages:
✔️closing the gap in the jump rings, ✔️placing the tiny pallions of solder ✔️seeing when they have become liquid ✔️solder flow along the join.

This repetition is great to learn how to solder successfully, the by-product is a great charm bracelet to keep and wear !

This photo was taken last night on our Level 2 course, week 3/8.

Great going folks! Lots of learning happening !
