🍂🌿 Another lovely autumn week at Little Darlings 🌿🍂

Carrying on with our autumn theme, this week has been all about nature and the beautiful changing colours of the leaves. 🍁🤎

We’ve wrapped up warm and enjoyed lots of nature walks, exploring our surroundings and noticing all the little signs that autumn is well and truly on its way. 🍂🐿️

We’ve been getting creative with leaf printing, making our very own leaf crowns 👑🍁 and creating beautiful nature frame collages using our autumn finds. 🌿

The children also made their very own bird feeders for our local wildlife. 🐦🌾 They were so excited to take them outside and hang them from the trees, and we can’t wait to see which little visitors come along to enjoy them! 🌳💚

We also held our very own Macmillan Coffee Morning 💚☕️🧁 The children enjoyed lots of yummy treats, and we’re so pleased to have raised £50 for Macmillan Cancer Support — a huge thank you to everyone who helped us support such a wonderful cause. 💚

🍂🌿 A Week of Autumn Nature at Little Darlings 🌿🍂

Our Autumn theme has continued this week with a lovely focus on nature and all the wonderful changes happening around us. 🐿️🍁

We’ve been very crafty! The children made and decorated their very own clay leaves, enjoying rolling out the clay, choosing their favourite leaf cutters and then painting their creations once they were ready. 🎨🍂 We’ve also made gorgeous handprint leaves and created our own leaf animals, including hedgehogs, foxes and bats. 🦔🦊🦇

Teamwork has been a big part of our week too! Our Little Darlings worked together to create some beautiful moths to decorate our setting, as well as a fabulous giant handprint Autumn tree. We love seeing their artwork transforming the setting for the new season. 🧡

Of course, we’ve made the most of being outdoors with lots of Autumn walks. We’ve talked about the leaves changing colour, spotted lots of conkers and different berries growing on the trees for the wildlife, and we’ve seen plenty of busy little squirrels along the way! 🐿️🌳🍒

We even enjoyed a Woodland Yoga session this week, giving the children a lovely opportunity to move, stretch and relax while continuing our nature theme. 🧘‍♀️🌿

Another busy week full of creativity, teamwork, exploring and learning through nature at Little Darlings. 🍁🤎

🍂🦊 Woodland Animals & Harvest Week at Little Darlings 🦉🌽

We’ve had another lovely week at Little Darlings, with our theme focusing on Woodland Animals & Harvest. 🍁

We’ve still had a few of our Little Darlings off poorly this week, so we’re sending lots of get-well wishes and keeping everything crossed for a full house of happy, healthy children next week! ❤️

We’ve made the most of the changing weather and enjoyed lots of lovely autumn walks, talking about the different coloured leaves and noticing how some are beginning to fall from the trees. 🍂 We’ve even embraced the rainy days with our wellies on and enjoyed some very important muddy puddle jumping! 🌧️🥾

Our autumn crafts have kept us very busy too! This week the children have:
🍎 Made apple-print wreaths
🦊 Created their own foxes
🦉 Made gorgeous handprint owls
🌽 Enjoyed corn-on-the-cob printing
🌾 Made their very own scarecrows
🍕 Made their very own Pizza’s

We were also SO excited to receive our copy of The Gruffalo Granny and, of course, we couldn’t wait to sit down together and enjoy it! 📚💚

With the cooler autumn weather starting to creep in, the children have been enjoying some lovely warmer meals too.

Another busy, messy and fun-filled week of learning through play at Little Darlings. 🍁🤎

A little bit of a mixed week here at Little Darlings 🤎

We’ve been settling into September with lots of lovely activities, including our beautiful sunflower fork paintings 🌻🎨, plenty of little walks enjoying the fresh air 🍂, we baked some lovely biscuits and focused on our “All About Me” theme for the week.

The children have loved making their own little people photo frames and adding special pictures of their families 🏡🤍 It’s been such a lovely way to talk about the people who are important to us and celebrate all of our different families.

Unfortunately, we’ve also had quite a week of coughs, colds and poorly Little Darlings 🤧 so we’re sending lots of love and get-well wishes to everyone who hasn’t been feeling themselves. We hope to see lots of happy little faces back with us next week! 🥰

🌸☀️ Another lovely week at Little Darlings Childcare! ☀️🌸

It’s been a great week and also our last week of the summer holidays — we can’t quite believe how quickly they’ve flown by! 💕

☕ We started the week with a lovely walk into town, stopping off at the coffee shop for some yummy treats.

🍓 The children made their very own fruit sorbet and fresh fruit salad, which everyone enjoyed eating afterwards!

🌿 We’ve enjoyed plenty of walks, making the most of the fresh air and getting out and about in our local community.

🌸 We got creative painting beautiful flowers using fork prints, exploring colours, patterns and textures.

💦 We’ve also had lots of outdoor fun with the sand, water and all our ride-on toys — definitely a favourite with the children!

🎓 And as the summer holidays come to an end, we’ve said a little “see you soon” to our school leavers as they get ready for their very exciting next adventure. We will still get to see you for school runs, school holidays and some when collecting their siblings from here. We celebrated them with a lovely lunch treat together and made the most of our final summer days with them. 🥹💗

We are so proud of them all and know they are going to absolutely shine at school! ✨

🍓🥕 This Week at Little Darlings Childcare 🥦🍉

This week has been all about our Nourishing Our Future Award, with lots of our activities centred around exploring different fruits, vegetables and healthy choices. 🌱✨

🍓 The children made their own colourful fruit skewers, choosing and trying different fruits.

🥣 We made some delicious no-bake treats, including Greek yoghurt bark – a lovely healthy treat that the children really enjoyed making (and eating! 😋).

🍪 The children also made some biscuits as a little mid week treat 😋

🎨 We got creative using different fruits and vegetables as stamps, exploring colours, shapes and textures through painting.

🌳 And of course, we’ve made the most of being outdoors with lots of park visits and lovely walks, keeping our little legs busy and enjoying plenty of fresh air.

💚 We are also so incredibly proud of our little Luke, who has been super brave and tried some new foods this week! Such a lovely achievement and we are all so proud of him. 🥰👏🏻

Another fun, busy and colourful week at Little Darlings Childcare – learning that healthy food can be fun too! 🍎🥒🍓💚

☀️ Another fun-filled week at Little Darlings Childcare! ☀️

What a gorgeous (and VERY hot! 🥵) week we’ve had! Despite some scorching days, our Little Darlings have all done amazingly and we’ve made the most of the sunshine. 💛

🧺 We discovered a new park, enjoyed a lovely picnic and had lots of fun exploring all the play equipment and sand pits.

🍦 We got creative with some beautiful ice-cream themed artwork, exploring different colours, textures and materials.

🍎 Lisa was doing an activity towards our next award with NOF - the kids had a great time being blindfolded and putting their hands in the bag to guess all the fruits - they even enjoyed eating all the fruit including pineapple, kiwi, strawberries, grapes & orange 🍊🍓🥝🍇

✈️ Then it was time to jet off! We created our very own Little Darlings Airport, complete with a check-in desk and homemade passports! Our destination was Spain 🇪🇸, where we enjoyed paella for dinner. Our older children wrote about what they would pack in their suitcases, while our younger ones had some brilliant discussions — teddies, shorts and sun cream were definitely essentials! 🧳☀️

🚗💦 We also created our own car wash stations, with plenty of water, sponges and bubbles — the perfect activity for a hot summer’s day — as well as enjoying some lovely walks together.

🎓 And finally, we ended the week with a very special Leavers’ Party for our reception-age children who are heading off to school in September. ❤️ The children had the BEST time dancing, eating, celebrating together and, of course, enjoying plenty of ice cream! 🍦🪩 It’s not goodbye as we will still be seeing them after school for dinner and school holidays 🫶🏼

🎂 We also celebrated our Little Arlo turning 2 this week and our Mylah who turned 8yrs old, We hope they’ve had the most wonderful days celebrating🎁🥳

Have a lovely weekend everyone! ☀️💛
