☀️ Another fun-filled week at Little Darlings Childcare! ☀️

What a gorgeous (and VERY hot! 🥵) week we’ve had! Despite some scorching days, our Little Darlings have all done amazingly and we’ve made the most of the sunshine. 💛

🧺 We discovered a new park, enjoyed a lovely picnic and had lots of fun exploring all the play equipment and sand pits.

🍦 We got creative with some beautiful ice-cream themed artwork, exploring different colours, textures and materials.

🍎 Lisa was doing an activity towards our next award with NOF - the kids had a great time being blindfolded and putting their hands in the bag to guess all the fruits - they even enjoyed eating all the fruit including pineapple, kiwi, strawberries, grapes & orange 🍊🍓🥝🍇

✈️ Then it was time to jet off! We created our very own Little Darlings Airport, complete with a check-in desk and homemade passports! Our destination was Spain 🇪🇸, where we enjoyed paella for dinner. Our older children wrote about what they would pack in their suitcases, while our younger ones had some brilliant discussions — teddies, shorts and sun cream were definitely essentials! 🧳☀️

🚗💦 We also created our own car wash stations, with plenty of water, sponges and bubbles — the perfect activity for a hot summer’s day — as well as enjoying some lovely walks together.

🎓 And finally, we ended the week with a very special Leavers’ Party for our reception-age children who are heading off to school in September. ❤️ The children had the BEST time dancing, eating, celebrating together and, of course, enjoying plenty of ice cream! 🍦🪩 It’s not goodbye as we will still be seeing them after school for dinner and school holidays 🫶🏼

🎂 We also celebrated our Little Arlo turning 2 this week and our Mylah who turned 8yrs old, We hope they’ve had the most wonderful days celebrating🎁🥳

☀️ This Week at Little Darlings Childcare ☀️

What a wonderful first week back we’ve had after our summer break! It has been so lovely welcoming all of our little darlings back, and we’ve had a fantastic week exploring our Sunshine & Summer theme. 🌞💛

This week we have:
🌿 Made magical nature wands
☀️ Created bright sunshine crafts using paper plates
🏖️ Designed our very own beach scenes with paint, sand and shells
💦 Enjoyed lots of water tray fun to help keep cool
🏖️ Spent time digging and building in the sand pit
🌳 Been on park trips and a woodland walk
🧺 Enjoyed a lovely picnic together
🫐 We’ve been blackberry picking and enjoyed our finds with lunches
🍦 Created our very own ice cream shop before
finishing the week with some delicious ice cream treats!

It’s been a week full of creativity, outdoor adventures, imagination and lots of smiles💛

We’re back - As of Monday 3rd August☀️

We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer break and we’re so excited to welcome all of our Little Darlings back for lots of fun over the coming weeks.

Following the recent tragic incidents along our coastline over the past couple of weeks, Louise has made the decision to postpone our planned visits to the beach during our first week or 2 back. The safety and wellbeing of our children will always be our top priority.

Don’t worry—we have lots of other exciting activities, adventures, outings and treats planned instead, and we can’t wait to share them with you all.

🇲🇽 This Week at Little Darlings Childcare 🇲🇽

What a fantastic way to end our summer term! ☀️❤️

This week we’ve been learning all about Mexico, with lots of fun, hands-on activities. The children decorated the Mexican flag using sponge painting, created their very own colourful sombreros using paper cups and paper plates, and finished them with buttons, pom poms and lots of sparkles! ✨🌵

The children also prepped and made their own tacos for dinner and all throughly enjoyed eating them🌮

We also enjoyed colouring Day of the Dead pictures while talking about different cultures and traditions.

To celebrate Shark Day 🦈, our water trays were transformed into exciting ocean adventures, complete with toy sharks, water play and shark-themed colouring activities.

We’ve made the most of the beautiful weather with lots of lovely walks, trips to the local parks and plenty of time outdoors exploring and having fun together. 🌳💚

To round off a wonderful summer term, we celebrated with our own little party filled with lots of delicious treats, laughter and smiles.🎉🍓🧁🍦

🍁🇨🇦 This Week at Little Darlings – Canada! 🇨🇦🍁

This week we’ve been exploring the beautiful country of Canada! 🍁 The children had lots of fun decorating the Canadian flag, creating their very own Canadian beavers, and getting creative with some maple leaf printing.

With the temperatures continuing to rise, we’ve also been doing our very best to stay cool with plenty of water play, refreshing ice poles and, of course, delicious ice creams! 🍦💦 A huge thank you to Aimee’s parents for kindly treating all of the children to an ice cream – it was such a thoughtful surprise and very much appreciated by everyone. ❤️

🇺🇸🌵 North America Week at Little Darlings Childcare 🌵🇺🇸

What a fantastic week we’ve had exploring North America! 🌎

Our little learners got creative by making their very own brown grizzly bears 🐻, colourful yellow school buses 🚌 and cacti 🌵 while learning about some of the wonderful things that make North America unique.

We’ve also made the most of the lovely weather by enjoying lots of nature walks, where the children have loved spotting and talking about the wildlife around us. This week we’ve been lucky enough to see a field mouse 🐭, dragonflies 🪰, bees 🐝, butterflies 🦋 and lots of birds 🐦, giving us plenty of opportunities to explore and learn about the natural world around us.

To finish the week, we celebrated 4th July with a fun-filled red, white and blue themed day! ❤️🤍💙 The children loved joining in with the celebrations, taking part in themed activities and enjoying another week full of creativity, learning and smiles.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Little Darlings Childcare has received our Nourishing Our Future (NOF) Rooting Award 🌱💚, recognising our commitment to promoting healthy eating habits and helping children develop a positive relationship with food from an early age.

We are also delighted to have become an Essex Charter Member! ⭐ This reflects our ongoing commitment to providing the highest standards of care, learning and development for every child and family who is part of our setting.

These achievements wouldn’t be possible without my amazing team, wonderful children and supportive families. Thank you for being part of our journey and helping Little Darlings continue to grow from strength to strength. 💛
