🇦🇷 This Week at Little Darlings Childcare 🇦🇷
Our theme this week has been Argentina, and we’ve had lots of fun exploring its culture, wildlife and traditions!
The children decorated the Argentinian flag using sponges, tasted some delicious Dulce de Leche, and created colourful wooden houses inspired by the vibrant town of La Boca. They also made mud nests using clay, leaves and sticks, just like those built by Argentina’s national bird, the Rufous Hornero. To finish off our Argentinian adventures, the children even learnt some steps from the famous Tango dance, which they absolutely loved!
🌊 At the beginning of the week, we celebrated World Ocean Day by watching live footage from Steve Backshall, learning all about marine life. The children created ocean-themed stencil artwork and enjoyed reading Gilbert the Shark together.
🌿 We have also been taking part in Great Big Green Week, learning about the importance of caring for our environment. The children visited the recycling bank to recycle glass jars and have been helping with recycling paper, card and plastic at the setting. They also made beautiful sun catchers using flowers they collected during our walks.
The children also started growing their own cress this week and are looking forward to adding cress to their lunches once it’s grown.
Another wonderful week full of creativity, learning, exploration and fun! 💚

Yesterday we celebrated National Biscuit Day and of course we just had to make biscuits! 🍪
All the children loved getting messy with the dough and cutting out different shapes for their biscuits. Some chose to decorate theirs using icing pens, while others added chocolate and coconut shavings for an extra special touch.
The best part was of course enjoying eating them afterwards… they were absolutely delicious! 🤎
