We’ve been doing lots of Year 3 writing work around paragraphs these last few weeks.
It’s been fun to take a look at texts about the girls favourite things…labubu’s and Stitch!
We’ve looked at organising our own writing for blogs as well as unscrambling information on Hula dancing! 💃
A great way to make paragraphs seem a little more exciting!

Estimating
We took a look at estimating last week.
A good strategy to have when we start to add or subtract larger numbers.
Estimates help us to know whether our final answer is in the right region.
We practiced on a number line first to see where numbers round up or down to.
Before putting our estimating into practice with some column addition/subtraction word problems 🧮💻💿🖥️

Pumpkin roll 🎃
We explored creating some spooky noun phrases.
Using our own dice we rolled to create a uniquely paatterned pumpkin.
Then looked carefully to see what adjectives would best describe each part 🎃

Maths last week looked at partitioning numbers into simple number sentences
Building up that number sense so that we have a good understanding of what each digit means in a number.
Fabulous maths 🤩
