Elspeth Hammond Tutoring

Elspeth Hammond Tutoring 1:1 tutition in a range of skill areas for children from Early years through to Year 6. Hi
Welcome to my page. A chance to get the most out of their learning.

Experience, knowledge and support covering phonics, reading, English and Maths amongst other key skills. A little bit about me…

I am a fully qualified Primary Teacher with close to 10 years of teaching experience. I trained in Nottingham, gaining my BA (Hons) Degree in Primary Education with specialisms in both English and Art. Throughout my teaching I have been able to work with all primary ages from Early Years through to Year 6. My most recent work has been in Colchester schools, with now a short break from the classroom to concentrate on raising my two girls. I feel very passionately about supporting every child in all areas of the curriculum, recognising their strengths and supporting them to achieve their very best. Sometimes we just need that little extra push, time and support in an ever expanding curriculum and busy school day. I hope to give children the chance to revisit, look closely and importantly time to get to grips with tricky bits and next level areas. With a purpose built home office. Children have the opportunity to concentrate on a 1:1 basis without the usual classroom
distractions. A place to benefit from individual and personalised teaching. That will target the areas of development your child needs to reach the next level on their school journey. And of course with the odd squash and biscuit break squeezed in too

Writing in a heatwave didn’t seem fun…

So we headed outdoors to create a potion. Writing our ingredients and instructions as we went along.

Water play and phonics.
We took our learning outside( under the shade) to have a go at matching single letter sounds. Then progressing to building and spelling cvc words.

Great work!

Last week we focussed on letter writing. Our formal letters were inspired by David Attenborough’s 100th. ✉️📮🦋
