Birthdays make you realise how much has changed in a year! Yesterday was a day of birthdays in our house as my husband and I share a birthday.
This last year has seen lots of change. As well as settling into our new home and tutoring space, in September I went back to work in a secondary school for the first time in 7 years. It has been a real privilege getting to working with whole classes of children again. I have significantly reduced my number of tutoring hours in the evenings and so I saw only a few new students this academic year, as well as continuing with my regular tutees.
At the end of this month I am starting a new role with exam marking, this year I will be a Team Leader. This means I will have an even greater level of training and insight into the GCSE exams, a role I am very excited to start.
From September, I will have new availability for daytime tutoring sessions, suitable for Home Ed students. Please message me for information and to join my waiting list.

The first half of this school year has flown by, I've been fully booked and really busy planning and teaching a great range of maths skills. What a pleasure to have so many fantastic tutees this year.

Lots of new multiplication games ready for sessions this term

Year 11 sessions this week focusing on circles.
Checking correct use of terminology, whiteboard work to quickly recap the basic skills followed by past exam questions to build further understanding and confidence.

This morning I finished off a series of summer holiday tutoring sessions for a student who's just finished year 2.
We've had great fun this summer playing lots of maths games, whilst recapping core skills. We've covered number bonds to 20 and 100, representations of addition/subtraction and multiplication/division, fractions, time and finally today we worked on money skills.

Wow, what a busy summer.
In between a few tutoring sessions, I've been busy with my little ones.
Would highly recommend a visit to the Science Museum in London for anyone with younger children, a fabulous way to get hands on with science and mathematics. My 2 certainly loved it.
Like many of you we are looking forward to getting back to the routine that September offers and I will be welcoming back many of my tutees.

Finished this week's tutoring with a session on percentages. Recapping the basics with links to fractions and then time for shopping and real life applications in our cuddly toy sale.
