I am currently looking after children who are receiving bi-lingual education. I am good at helping children develop speech in an additional language. I speak, read, write fluent French, English, Turkish, intermediate Spanish. I work in partnership with parents. Always try to respect and implement their views as much as possible whilst also implementing Ofsted requirement in my work. I have been a nanny since 2015 but worked with children previously in France and in England. About children with special needs:
I have done school runs with taxi drivers for children with special for 2 years. I can not name the children I looked after for professional confidential reasons. I have been lucky to take a fantastic 7 year old who had cerebral palsy to school. He was always happy and loved me singing songs to him on his way home. I have taken him to school for few month. Another was epileptic. At 5 he was a lively little boy but required particular attention to fits. I know how to protect an epileptic child, make sure he won't bite his tongue during fits, airways not blocked, protect the head, wait for the fit to end, record time and duration of fits. My last was a 13-year-old autistic rebellious teenager. She expressed herself by being rude and sometimes violent. I had to tell her straight away the day I met her, I would not allow her to be rude to me and the taxi driver. She seemed to appreciate me more. As if the limits I gave to her were a mark of respect, sign I knew she could do better, so I expected her best. She seemed rude but she was actually a very sensitive normal teenager. I love looking after children with special needs. I have undertaken an optional first aid training to look after and detect a rare but dangerous allergy called Anaphylaxis. I learn sign language and can sign mum, dad, eat, drink, cereals, milk, hello, stop, I love you, I teach my child to sign and wish to learn more. I often watch videos online. Language skills:
- French (native language) speak, read and write fluent French.
- Turkish (second language) speak, read and write fluent Turkish.
- English (third language) speak, read and write fluent English.
- Spanish (fourth language) speak and write intermediate, read fluent Spanish. Other information:

I can accept a permanent contract if the position is full time. I would then be your employee and I will accept your conditions. If the work is temporary or part-time,I will elaborate a contract in accordance with your need and expectation after our first meeting. In order to meet your budget and follow your rules, we will need to establish your requirement together. Although I am a nanny and not a childminder, I will ask you for written consent in prescribing children medication and the consent in giving first aid and communicate confidential health information to health services in case of an emergency. About simplified methods of teaching:
Some learn better by watching, some by listening, watching, doing things...
Our inner personality and tastes can give us a tendency to learn better in certain circumstances. As a private teacher and educational assistant, I noticed some children and adults were more receptive to learning by doing things in order to understand the theory,
whilst others learners would not want to attempt practising something before understanding the theory behind the subject. About special needs and children who do not speak English:
I am adaptable and willing to take further training to support a child's particular need. I love learning different languages and have no problems working with children who do not initially speak English. About your culture and way of life:
Your principles, views, religion, lifestyle, are choices I respect. As I should be spending time in your home, with your children, I would like you to explain to me what your rituals are, your routines, your view on education and work with you on ways to improve any problem that could arise. Teaching French, Turkish or Spanish to English speaking children:
Learning another language from a young age is a gift. It is so much easier for children than it is for adults to learn a new language. Children learn better when they can use what they learn with another child. Their mind is fresh and in full learning mode. It is possible for adults to learn another language, but it takes more effort.
