Penny Meadow - Achieve Together Life Skills Centre for Adults with Learning Disabilities.

We offer transport & do a variety of weekly activities including dance, swimming, trampolining, living skills, cooking, work experience, art, forest schools & much more We also offer 2 saturdays a month where we enjoy a fun day out, such as archery, bowling, high ropes, farms, themed days etc & then out for a hot/cold meal in a pub/cafe/onsite.

Some of the fun we have been having during September 😍 Including drama, gym & sensory sessions, swimming, seaside centre, large scale art & woodwork for our upcoming awards night in November & much more 🤩 Also, a huge congratulations to Daniel McGauley who came back from Canada with a collection of gold medals for his weight lifting & bench presses 🥇🥇🥇

What a fabulous day we all had at Adventure Island yesterday 🤩 Huge well done to the young adults who showed patience whilst queing, bravery on the rides & for making the day easier by following instruction & looking out for 1 another & a massive thanks to our amazing staff who supported yesterday & ensured a great day was had by all Grace Leavett Connor Murphy-Shayler Kelly Usher Anna Hewitt-Rushmer Faye McDowell Laura B**r Vikki Garrad xx

Some of the fun we have had in August, including lots of woodwork & crafts in our woodland area as well as tidying it all up & finishing the shelter, ready for the colder months ahead 😊 We have enjoyed making homemade fudge, jelly pots, blackberry picking/jam making, dressing up, sports, sensory exploration & gardening. A small group of meadowers have also started work experience at a local charity shop. Another group are visiting a private gym with an instructor once a week and we have also added a sensory gym session & a dance session for various groups throughout the week. We have enjoyed meeting new meadowers who have joined us, as well as new staff members who have joined our team @ Penny Meadow 🤩 Welcome to all our newbies, we hope you love it here as much as we all do ❤️

Wow! What an absolutely incredible night we all had last night at Penny Meadow performing Matilda the Musical 🎭📖🏆🎉🎵❤️
The church was full, the audience was great & the young adults were brilliant xx Thank u to everyone who came, our wonderful staff team, volunteers, parents, carers & of course the incredible & talented young adults here 🤩 None of this would be possible without our amazing manager Alan (Ed) who puts everything he possibly can, into these shows, so thank u for everything you do 🤩

Wow, what an incredible day we all had at Penny Meadow today 😍 We were joined by the amazing & very talented Essex Musical Theatre Choirs Colchester/Chelmsford who performed some well known songs from musicals, followed by us performing some of our Matilda songs & ending by us all collaborating together - after lunch, we took part in some musical challenges & quizzes to test their knowledge - it was such a special & fun day xx
