Building independence is a significant part of a child's life. It promotes children's social skills; self-reliance and allows the child to feel they have control over their life. Child independence means they no longer feel completely impotent and vulnerable to external hazards, this is why we try and promote independence in every aspect of a child's nursery routine!
This is why we have introduced our new breakfast station. The children are able to independently come and choose a bowl, spoon and cereal, but this week we have introduced cereal dispensers in both the toddler and Pre-school room. The children can twist the handle and collect their own cereal for breakfast. The children love our new and improved breakfast time!
