Today, the children enjoyed playing with our Dinosaur Small World, exploring a prehistoric landscape filled with dinosaur figures, stones, leaves, sticks and a little blue river. 🌊

They used their imagination to create their own dinosaur adventures, discovering and exploring the different parts of the landscape. A lovely activity full of fun and imaginative play! 💚

Safer Sleep😴💤
We pride ourselves at Wivenhoe Park Day Nursery in creating a safe, soothing and secure sleep space for our children.

All staff are well informed with the new "Safer Sleep" guidance and follow this accordingly, adapting each sleep space depending on age.

Key points include:
~Children are placed on their backs to sleep
~Feet are at the foot of their mattresses
~Well-fitted sheets to avoid bunching
~Breathable blankets are used
~Frequent sleep checks are carried out by staff
~Under 12 months are placed to sleep in a cot
~Over 12 months are placed to sleep in a corracle or on a firm, flat mattress.

Today, the children have been enjoying getting creative and welcoming the arrival of autumn! 🍁🎨

They worked together using their hands, fingers and paint to create colourful leaves for our Autumn Tree. They had fun exploring autumn colours and different textures while expressing their creativity and working as a team! 🍂❤️💛🤎

Starting nursery is a big little milestone. We know that the first few days and weeks can bring a mixture of excitement, nerves and lots of emotions (for little ones and their grown ups)

That's why we take time to help every child settle in at their own pace, building familiar routines, relationships and confidence along the way.

Before long, those nervous goodbye's become happy hello's, new friendships begin and nursery becomes a place they feel safe, secure and excited to explore.

One little step at a time 👣
