We have had an amazing first week. The children settled back in very quickly, they all had great fun exploring the new environment and toys. We have greeted lots of new families into our preschool community and look forward to meeting more next week. We had lots of fun exploring the school fields with flower picking and parachute games on Friday.
We are very excited to share our new preschool. All the staff are looking forward to seeing the children explore and play next week.
We hope all the children who started big school today had a great first day.
All the staff at Wivenhoe Preschool would like to say a massive thank you to all the families, for your very thoughtful gifts we received on our last day. We were overwhelmed by your generosity. It was an amazing end of term party.
For those leaving to start their next chapter at School we wish them all good luck and hope you stay in touch, we would love to see some photos from their first day.
We hope you all have an amazing summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in September.
All our school leavers had a fantastic sports day today. All the children and families who came to watch had lots of fun, the children really enjoyed helping their adults in the bean bag race 😀

We are always looking at ways to improve and build upon the children's development. We are about to set ourselves our biggest mission so far.... We would like to purchase a summer house for the garden. This is a great space to be used in all weathers as an outside classroom. The enrichment opportunities this could offer the children are amazing.
If any of the preschool current/old families and friends have any help regarding fundraising/discount purchases we would be very grateful. Also in time the support and skills with building it.
Photos are some inspiration for our vision.

Last week our theme was 'maths' the children were exploring counting, number recognition, more and less along with number lines. They have enjoyed drawing hopscotches in the garden and jumping along the numbers. In small groups we discovered floating and sinking discussing weights and guessing what they thought would happen.
We made naan breads to follow along for our diversity topic of learning all about india.
The children spontaneously draw round one another in the garden, this sparked the learning of counting our eyes, ears, legs, arms etc. Along with the different heights of each child
Then a great surprise at the end of the week, our new mud kitchen got delivered on Friday afternoon. Can safely say it was a big hit, they children loved having fun and explore and planning what they were going to do with it this week. It was made by a lovely small local company https://www.facebook.com/salvagestitchrestore. They were great helping us with our budget and making it personalised for us. A lovely couple, who you can tell take pride in their work. We would highly recommend them.
