What a fantastic afternoon we had celebrating Father's Day at Monkey Puzzle Stanway!

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful dads and grandads who joined us for our Father's Day BBQ. It was lovely to see so many families enjoying delicious food, fun activities and spending quality time together.

Thank you to our amazing team for making the afternoon so special, and to everyone who came along and celebrated with us. We hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day! 💙

🐒🦁 SCHOOL LEAVERS' TRIP TO COLCHESTER ZOO! 🦒🐘

What an amazing day our School Leavers had at Colchester Zoo!

Despite the rainy weather, the fun certainly wasn't dampened! ☔😊 The children embraced the adventure with big smiles, enjoying every moment as they explored the zoo and discovered incredible animals from around the world.

A special highlight of the day was visiting the monkey that Monkey Puzzle Stanway have adopted. The children were so excited to see their adopted monkey in person and loved finding and reading our adoption plaque – it made the experience even more meaningful! 🐵💚

🍕🥪 Staff Appreciation Lunch at Monkey Puzzle Stanway! 🥗🍰

Today we treated our wonderful team to lunch as a small thank you for all the hard work, care, and dedication they show every single day.

Our staff go above and beyond to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment for the children in our care, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do.

Taking time together to enjoy lunch, catch up, and celebrate our amazing team is so important. A happy team helps create happy children, and we are proud to have such a fantastic group of people at Monkey Puzzle Stanway.

Pre-School children have been having a committee meeting, where they have enjoyed their time together. They took turn in pouring hot chocolate and having a biscuits. Whilst wearing an important lanyard the children discussed what they like about their time at Monkey Puzzle in the pre-school room. They discussed their interests and what resources they would like to extend their learning. They have recalled past activities of Vincent Van Gough, Mae Jameson, making volcanos, learning about dinosaurs. Building various constructions using the leg or blocks, either inside or outside. The children are enjoying being Monkey Puzzle chefs, preparing snack for their peers and cutting various vegetables, Some of the children said that they would like to eat mash potatoes and gravy for dinner. The children have talked about learning yoga, Spanish and Jo jingles, Tennis and Tiny toes. Where the children have recalled their past experiences this has developed their knowledge further.

In Dolphins we have been experimenting with some fun science experiments. The children got involved in creating an exploding volcano. Together the children put down the sand and decorated the tuff tray for the volcano. We talked through what was going to happen and what ingredients we were using.
For the volcano we used baking powder and vinegar and the children took it in turns to pour in the ingredients. We counted down from 5 and the volcano fizzed and exploded. The children in Dolphins really enjoyed this had so much fun.
We also did an experiment called cray colours and the children were able to mix the different colours together and watch it fizz and create a little explosion.

All the pre-school children here at Monkey Puzzle Stanway have had sooooo much fun being entertained by the 4 little ducklings during their stay with us!

They have been splashing around in the water and running around the classroom while the children have taken it in turns to hold and pet them.

Pre-school have learnt all about the life cycle of the ducklings while having fun which is the best way the learn!

We say a sad farewell to the ducklings, as they now are big enough to go back to the little small holding where they will join all the other ducks and chicks and continue to grow.

Great excitement in Monkey Puzzle this week!

We are very lucky to announce that we now have 4 ducklings!
They are soooooooooo cute, everyone has been popping in to take a look and coo over them :-)

They had over night stays for the weekend with Nikki who made a make shift pond in her garden for them where they had their first swim!!

The ducklings loved watermelon and squashed peas!

Ducklings Update….
Nikki our Office Manager took home the ducklings this weekend and they are all doing so well and growing by the day. A few pictures of them playing in water and enjoying their breakfast this morning
