Excited to have a new team member shadowing my clinical practice today! Looking forward to showing her the ropes, sharing insights on behavioural observations and learning from each other along the way.

Running behavioraly observations at a community clinic is always an adventure, but the children never fail to keep me accountable. Reminding me to show them my stickers.

Back in the clinic today for face-to-face observations! Nothing replaces the energy, subtle non-verbal cues, and genuine connection of supporting children and young people in person.

Carrying out behavioral observations requires a flexible, child-centered approach. Making reasonable adjustments—like stepping out of the traditional room—helps kids feel safe and relaxed so their true personalities can shine.
Today, we took the clinic outside and sat on the wall. Ditching the desk for sunshine and open space turned a formal assessment into a natural, comfortable moment.

Exhausted, but my heart is full. Spent the entire day conducting clinical behavioral observations with incredible children and young people.
Observing how they navigate their worlds—their micro-expressions, coping mechanisms, and unique ways of communicating—is equal parts intense and deeply rewarding. Every behavior tells a story, and today was packed with important lessons.
Time to decompress, process the notes, and recharge for tomorrow! 🧠✨

Nothing beats the value of in person clinical observations, especially during child pre-assessments for ADHD. Seeing a child's natural behaviour, attention shifts, and interactions firsthand captures the subtle nuances.
The children were super excited to see all my new fidgets and games!
