Last week, Year 3 excitedly came in to find the hook for their new English book 'Leon and the Place Between'. They entered a word of circus magic ready to explore their new theme of writing- Magic and Wonder. We look forward to seeing this transpire through their posters, reviews, settings descriptions, dairy entries and finally with their own version of a fantasy narrative!

In year 2's art lesson, they stepped back in time and became Mesopotamian scribes!
Using clay and carving techniques, they had a go at creating their own ancient-style writing. It was definitely a hands-on (and very messy!) experience, but they had so much fun getting stuck in.

Year one rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into science! They learnt all about plants and made their own wildflower seed bombs and pea planters. A great experience to support their learning over the coming weeks.

Well done to the children that tool part in this year’s School Garden Competition in Culver Square.

This year’s theme was to represent the World Cup in a garden. We brainstormed our ideas in gardening club and talked about colours we would want to use red for Cherry Tree and white for footballs.

The group also enjoyed the opportunity to visit the bees with Dave. It was a lovely addition to the day,

The People's Choice Award is now open and will run throughout the summer holidays.
Please go into Culver Square to see the gardens and cast your vote. There is a QR code on the garden or you can follow the link to vote. https://www.childrensgardeningcoach.co.uk/vote. Please encourage everyone you know to vote for Cherry Tree!
There are eight entries in total and it would be fantastic to win.
The People's Choice Award winner will be announced in September – thanks for your support.

Year 6’s performance of Peter Pan was amazing!
Watching the children bring Neverland to life, from the Lost Boys and the mermaids to Captain Hook and Mr Smee, was a joy from start to finish. The singing, the acting and the confidence they all showed on that stage was fantastic!
