Read to the Beat, Summer Reading Challenge 2026 launches in all Essex libraries on Saturday 18 July 2026 and runs until Saturday 5 September 2026. Children of all ages can join – the challenge is to read six books or do reading-related activities, and they’ll collect a sticker for each achievement. Children completing the activity also get a medal and certificate. It’s great fun and can also help to prevent a reading dip over the long summer break.

NHS Healthy Start is here to help Essex families buy healthy food. Healthy Start can help if you’re 10-weeks pregnant or more, or have a child under four and receive certain benefits. Holiday Fun at First Site this Summer

With the forecast predicting hot weather this week, we have decided to relax our usual school uniform expectations to help keep children comfortable.

Children may come to school wearing their PE kit for this week.

We would also appreciate your support in:
- Applying sun cream before school.
- Sending your child with a sun hat.
- Providing a named water bottle each day.

We will continue to encourage regular drinks and make use of shaded areas whenever possible.

Following communication from the Local Authority, we will be making temporary adjustments to the structure of the school day for this week.

We will close at 2:25pm today instead of 3:15pm. Nursery children may also be collected at this time via the school office.

From Wednesday to Friday, the school day will finish at 2:25pm.

An email has been sent out to parents via Arbor - please keep an eye out for this and forward this onto parents who may not see their email in time. Thank you.
