🎂🎉 One of my mindees is having a birthday this week, so there was a sensory cupcake creation station set up and the children decorated their own fairy cakes that they could take home. Celebrating each other makes our little cohort build lasting friendships together ☺️

🧚🪄 It's been a very fairy themed week here following on from my eldest's birthday!
We spent the morning collecting flowers from the local area and used them in our own potions. The children loved mixing the coloured water, adding their own flowers and we added some 'fizz' for that extra touch of magic. I wonder what we'll get up to next week...

🍦We continued our theme of Ice Cream this week!

⛱️🔢 The children enjoyed some sensory play of foamy and sandy ice cream creations. We focused on numbers and counting, linking to scoops. Of course the children enjoyed an ice cream themselves too!

⛱️🦀🐚 We had a lovely morning with Story Imagin-ory Colchester South and West at Woodland View Care Home - Barchester Healthcare with fellow childminders and their mindees! It was a beach theme which the children thoroughly enjoyed, they fully engaged with the story and the activities set out by Becky! Always a pleasure being invited into Woodland View with their fellow residents, the children loved sharing their dough ice cream creations and of course they enjoyed their own cold treat at the end. What a lovely way to end the term!

Sports Week!
🏀🎳 This week has been sweaty! We've made the most of being outside in the morning whilst it's slightly cooler and moving some activities inside so we don't get too hot.

⚽🏅🏃 Today, we were joined by Silly Billy's tiney home for a sports day with the mindees! I set up a little course outside in the local area and they showed determination, focus and sportsmanship during the activities. They worked on their balancing, jumping, throwing and kicking skills. Of course everyone got a medal for completing the course as well!

Summer 🦋☀️🌻
I totally forgot to post! It's been such a lovely, busy week!

💐 We focused on summer - especially flowers as the children have loved seeing the changes in the local area and hunting for bugs. We did some gardening, planting our own flowers to take home. Using the flower bouquet paddles from Perry's Woodcraft we collected flowers around the area, we even had a butterfly land on one of them, which was super exciting for the children!

🌼 Some lovely sensory activities of flower scooping and flower printing with paint too!

A lovely week making the most of the cooler weather ☺️

Bugs! 🐌🐛
🔍🐞🌡️It's been a very hot week, but that didn't stop us going outside when we could hunt for bugs!
🐝🦋🪲🐜 We enjoyed using more creations from Perry's Woodcraft including the custom insect topper, the children loved the bug hotel with insects to hunt and home, using books for support. We also rescued the bugs in the ice as a little activity to keep the heat away for a little while. The children persevered this week, so we're hoping for some cooler weather next week!

🧍‍♂️Daddy Week
All of the children enjoyed creating their own handprint keychain, they were fascinated by how it started one size then shrunk and hardened after some time in the oven. A lovely little keepsake. We focused on a and d, finding it whilst out and about, searching in books and using stamps to create the letters.

..We celebrated World Ocean Day! 🐠🦈🐟

🫧🫍🐳 We created our own ocean art printing on painted bubble wrap and applying foam stickers. Using blue tissue paper, we sorted different ocean animals, creating various scenes.
