🧍‍♂️Daddy Week
All of the children enjoyed creating their own handprint keychain, they were fascinated by how it started one size then shrunk and hardened after some time in the oven. A lovely little keepsake. We focused on a and d, finding it whilst out and about, searching in books and using stamps to create the letters.

I totally forgot to post last week!
..We celebrated World Ocean Day! 🐠🦈🐟

🫧🫍🐳 We created our own ocean art printing on painted bubble wrap and applying foam stickers. Using blue tissue paper, we sorted different ocean animals, creating various scenes.

Just a little shout out as you may or may not know... I'm a trustee to The Little Book Shed Colchester and I'll be doing multiple readings at All about kids - Colchester Family fest this Saturday, so if you're planning to attend...say hi, join for a reading and support the charity in a variety of ways! You'll find our stand near the entrance 😊

📚 We invited the lovely Becky from Story Imagin-ory Colchester South and West to run an amazing garden session with my mindees and we were joined by Silly Billy's tiney home! It was an amazing session as always, the children enjoyed filling envelopes, forming letters and being part of the story.

🌼🌸🐿️ We used 'The Flower Thief' to extend our play of finding flowers for squirrel, sorting them into colours. A lovely week and we made the most of the weather!

🐝 That's bees done for the past two weeks!
🍪🌼 We've enjoyed sorting bees, pom poms and other spring time items in chickpeas, another shout out to Perry's Woodcraft for a lovely set of items to celebrate all things bees! The biscuits were a great success too!

🎉 I can officially share that I have maintained my Outstanding grading following my Quality Assurance Inspection a few weeks ago! 🥳 Outstanding in all areas (added a few snippets from the report).

🐝 It's Bee Week!
🌼The children enjoyed searching for bees amongst the flowers once the sun came out (we did spot a few!). We created bees from pine cones, wool and plastic bags for wings. We collected yellow flowers to create our own floral bees and patted, squashed and rolls playdough into bees using 'Thats not my Bee' for inspiration.

📦 We also received this month's Perrybox from Perry's Woodcraft which has been amazing, the children have really engaged with this bundle, there was a buzz of excitement when the package arrived! A lovely week, especially now the weather has turned more summery too!

🧠❤️ We focused on mental health this week!
☺️😔 The children enjoyed exploring different activities and toys, we looked at what made us happy and those feelings when we are sad or angry.
🔨🔧 We found the toolbox which relates well to 'Jabari Tries' (the second book in the series) which talks about emotions when approaching something tricky or challenging - lovely books to have for those moments.

🎉 Today, we celebrated David Attenborough's 100th birthday, we spoke about animal conservation using 'Dear Zoo' to explore different animals and match them to the story. Once the sun came out, we played with marine animals in the garden and tried to listen to animals outside in the woods.
