Fairfield Win the Allerdale Athletics Finals!

A superb Fairfield team win for our Year 5 and 6 children competing at the Allerdale Athletics finals at Netherhall School, today.

All the children competed a track and a field event.

It was lovely to see a wonderful demonstration of individual determination and teamwork resulting in our success!

Well done again . 🎉

Year 1 Visit from Maryport Rescue.

The children learned about the important jobs they do to help people who are in danger at sea. The children loved looking at the different clothes and equipment the crew wear to keep safe during rescues, including their lifejackets, helmets and waterproof suits. The children learned lots of important water safety information.

Year 1 asked lots of questions and found out how the lifeboat crew work together to help save lives. Thank you to the crew for visiting us- this was a rearranged visit from Safeguarding Week.

There will be a fundraising event at the Maryport Lifeboat Station on 29th and 30th August. There will be lifeboats to see, fun activities and lots more for families to enjoy while supporting this amazing service.

Fairfield Football Victory! ⚽️

Our Year 6 boys were undefeated this afternoon and came away as champions of the Cockermouth Cluster's Year 6 Boys' Football Festival.

They demonstrated superb skill, respect and teamwork throughout.

Fantastic work boys- go . 🎉

Safeguarding Week: Day 5

To conclude a fantastic week, today we welcomed Cumbria Constabulary's Cyber Crime Team. Niall delivered engaging workshops to our Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils on cyber choice, AI, online safety, cyber-crime and cyber security.

Network Rail were also welcomed to school today, to deliver their Thomas the Tank Safety Workshop to Reception as well as informative Rail Safety Presentations to Years 3 and 4.

Finally, we welcomed Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team into school to deliver engaging mountain safety talks to our Reception, Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 children. It's safe to safe the canine member of the team was a very popular visitor!

A HUGE thank you to all of our visitors today Allerdale Police Cumbria Police, Network Rail and Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team. The children have enjoyed another very informative and engaging day.

Safeguarding Week: Day 4

Yesterday, the day started with engaging workshops delivered by Cumbria's Youth Justice Team, to our Year 4 children.

For Year 2, the NSPCC were in school delivering informative and engaging sessions.

Moreover, we welcomed Barnardo’s into school to deliver an engaging presentation (to Years 3 and 4) based on the charity and the importance of mental health and well-being.

Meanwhile, Years 5 and 6 learnt key information linked to child exploitation.

In the afternoon, Year 5 continued with their First Aid accreditations and Mrs. Fisher (School Counsellor) delivered an informative session to our Reception friends.

Nursery completed some important work linked to the PANTS rule.

Unfortunately, our Lifeboat visit (for Year 1) was postponed. The great news is it's already been rescheduled and will be visiting us very soon.

Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful morning yesterday, developing their skills in a sport that, to most, was brand new.
