KCSIE 2026 has been published, with the new statutory guidance coming into force on 1 September 2026.

We would like to wish all of our Year 6 Leavers the best of luck as they start the next chapter of their school journey at their chosen secondary schools this week. As part of their Cumbrian Award, Year 6 set up a hot/cold drinks business. The business was incredibly popular, with the children making, selling and serving drinks at both the Summer Fair and break time this week. The children made over £100 worth (roughly 200 smoothies!), eventually making over £40 profit. Well done everyone! A big thank you must also be given to P & R Roofing Cumbria Ltd, for sponsoring the class business.

We were delighted to see so many of our past pupils achieving a variety of awards at this year's Celebration Evening. Well done everyone! 🏆

Well done to our Year 7 students who attended last night’s Celebration Evening, where we recognised a range of achievements from across the year.

All of our Year 7 students have had a fantastic first year at Cockermouth School and we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. While it was a pleasure to celebrate our award winners, we also want to recognise the effort, progress and contribution of every single student in the year group.

A brilliant first year – we look forward to seeing what they achieve next!

Year 6 had a fantastic day cycling through the beautiful countryside and along the coast around Kirkbride! Everyone had a wonderful time, enjoying a picnic by the coast, followed by ice lollies at the park. It was a fun-filled day, with lots of smiles, laughter and yet more happy memories made together in Year 6. We'd also like to thank our amazing support team, as it is only with their hard work that this event was such a success.
