What a busy time we have had at Lorton School. The production of ‘Jungle Book’ was a real treat and it was wonderful to see the children rise to the challenge and play their parts with enthusiasm and talent. As one of our audience commented afterwards, ‘If you could bottle the essence of this evening’s Jungle Book every parent would want their child to come Lorton School. Absolutely fabulous!’ The children made us so proud!
We’ve had sports day and leavers presentation as well - a chance to celebrate a different set of talents and give everyone the chance to shine. 🌟
Today there’s a special treat from Mrs Harrison today as she retires - an ice cream for everyone! Yummy! 😋 Happy summer holidays!

Last Saturday Lorton Tennis Club (just next to school) held the Lorton Tennis junior club championships 2026.

One of our pupils won the under 8s and another won Under 12. (Plus a former pupil won Under 14s). There was a really good turnout with 10 entries in under 8s. Well done to all who took part and thanks to the tennis club for the opportunities to take part in local sport you offer to our pupils.

What a fantastic achievement for this Lorton pupil, one example of the many talents our pupils demonstrate. She has come first in the North West England Youth League (under 10 girls) on her bike this past weekend with a win in the last race of the season - her home event, Salt Ayre Cog Set. We are proud of you and it was lovely to see your medals and trophy!

What a special evening we had on Friday for our annual Rounders Night. Not only was the weather perfect (much cooler than earlier in the day but no rain) but we could say ‘thank you and farewell’ to Mrs Harrison after 28 years’ service at the school. Thank you all for coming - a real school and community event with lots of former pupils and their families, and thank you to Mrs Harrison for the time supporting all the Lorton children over the years. Well done to all who took part for completing not just the walk (part of our enrichment offer) but also the added challenge to talk to someone from another school, building confidence ahead of their move to secondary school!
