A little reminder today 🦋

Sometimes we become so focused on what we’re trying to change, achieve, heal or create that we forget to notice how much is already here.

We tell ourselves we’ll relax when life settles down.

We’ll feel grateful when there’s more money in the bank.

We’ll enjoy ourselves when the work is done.

We’ll feel happy when that next thing finally falls into place.

But life is happening now. 🤍

In the cup of tea you drink while it’s still hot.

The dog curled up beside you.

The message from someone you love.

The body that carried you out of bed this morning.

The sky changing colour.

The familiar voice on the end of the phone.

The laughter you weren’t expecting.

The simple fact that you woke up to another day.

None of this means we shouldn’t want more for ourselves.

I certainly do.

We can have dreams.
We can want change.
We can be excited about who we’re becoming.

But we don’t have to postpone feeling good until we get there.

And we definitely don’t need to have the whole journey figured out.

Sometimes the next small step is enough.

Sometimes resting is enough.

Sometimes appreciating what is already here is enough.

And perhaps one of the greatest forms of abundance isn’t having everything we want.

It’s being able to recognise the richness in what we already have.

So today, before rushing onto the next thing, take a moment.

Look around you.

Notice what feels good.
Notice who is still here.
Notice what your body allows you to experience.
Notice the tiny, ordinary moments you might normally rush straight past.

Because I think some of the days we’ll miss most one day are the wonderfully ordinary ones we’re living right now. 🤍

Today is already part of your life.

Don’t forget to be in it. 🦋

“I’d love to do yoga, but I’m far too stiff.”

If I had a pound for every time someone has said this to me 😂🦋

And I completely understand why.

When so much of what we see of yoga online involves incredibly bendy people doing things with their legs that frankly don’t look entirely necessary 😂, it’s easy to decide that yoga simply isn’t for you.

But that isn’t the yoga I teach.

My Wednesday morning sessions at Dearham Village Hall are gentle, slower and designed for real bodies and real life.

You don’t need to be flexible.

You don’t need to be fit.

You don’t need to know the names of the postures.

And you definitely don’t need to be able to touch your toes.

Our new six-week Autumn journey gives us time to do something a little different from simply turning up for another exercise class.

We’ll use gentle Yin-based yoga to help release stiffness and create more ease in the body, alongside breathwork, relaxation, healing and some of the beautiful seasonal practices that are woven through all of my Serenity sessions.

There’s time to slow down.

Time to breathe.

And a lovely long relaxation at the end, rather than jumping up from the mat and racing straight back into your day.

All the equipment is provided too, so you can simply arrive in something comfortable and I’ll take care of the rest.

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines thinking,

“I’d love to try it, but I’m not sure yoga is for me…”

…perhaps this is your invitation to find out. 🍂

September always feels a little more like a new year to me than January does 🍂🦋

There’s something about this time of year.

Summer begins to soften, routines return ( 🤪) the evenings slowly start drawing in and nature begins that beautiful shift towards autumn.

And I always feel it too.

A little invitation to pause.

To take stock.

To notice what’s working, what isn’t, and what I might want to do a little differently as I move into the final few months of the year.

Not in a “right, time to sort my life out” kind of way 😂

More gently than that.

Because sometimes we don’t need another goal, another challenge or another thing to achieve.

Sometimes we simply need to ask ourselves what we need.

So if you have five quiet minutes today, make yourself a cuppa, sit somewhere comfortable and ask yourself:

🍂 What am I ready to let go of, surrender?

🍂 What would I love to make more space for?

🍂 And perhaps most importantly, how do I want to FEEL as I move through this autumn?

Calmer?

More energised?

More connected?

More confident?

More present?

More like yourself again?

You don’t have to know how you’re going to get there.

Just noticing what you need is a pretty lovely place to begin.

I think that’s why I love this season so much.

Nature doesn’t rush into the next version of itself.

It simply begins to let go of what it no longer needs and turns gently inward.

Maybe we can give ourselves permission to do a little of that too. 🍂

This is very much the energy I’m taking into everything we’re doing in Serenity this autumn.

A little less rushing.

A little more listening.

And a lot more coming home to ourselves. 🦋

Beautiful souls 🦋

We have a rather special Full Moon in Pisces and lunar eclipse overnight tonight 🌕✨

This is a beautiful one for surrender, emotional release and trusting your intuition.

Pisces invites us out of our busy thinking minds and back into feeling. Rather than asking “What do I need to do next?”, tonight you might gently ask:

✨ What am I ready to stop trying to control?
✨ What have I outgrown, even if part of me is still holding on?
✨ What is my intuition quietly trying to tell me?
✨ What would it feel like to trust where life is taking me next?

Because this is also an eclipse, I wouldn’t make tonight about a huge list of things to manifest.

Instead, make it about listening, releasing and allowing.

Light a candle, hold a crystal if you wish, take a few slow breaths and simply sit with whatever comes up. You could write down something you are ready to leave behind and safely burn or tear up the paper afterwards.

Then place both hands over your heart and say:

I release what is complete.
I trust what is unfolding.
I make space for what is ready to find me.

And if you happen to be awake very early, the eclipse reaches its peak at around 5.12am here in the UK, when almost all of the Moon will be in the Earth’s shadow 🌕🌑

No need to get up especially though 😂 Your cosy bed and a little intention before sleep will do beautifully.

Sleep well and let this one be gentle 🦋✨

25/08/2026

I’ve been teaching yoga for a long time, but over the past few months I’ve felt myself wanting to offer something a little different.

Something deeper than simply coming to a class once a week.

Because I think so many of us are very good at keeping going.

We work. We look after people. We tick things off the list. We tell ourselves we’ll slow down when things are quieter.

And somehow, they never really are. 🤍

So this autumn I’m changing the way I teach at my little Serenity Lounge in Cockermouth.

Instead of simply offering weekly classes, we’re beginning six-week seasonal journeys.

A small group of just six women, moving through autumn together.

There will still be beautiful gentle yoga, of course, but we’ll also weave in breathwork, deep guided relaxation, Angelic Reiki healing, crystals, essential oils, sound healing and time to simply be.

You’ll have your own journal for the journey, little seasonal gifts and practices to take home, and a new guided recording each week so that what we create together doesn’t have to end when you walk out of the door.

My hope is that these six weeks become a little anchor in your week.

A place where you don’t have to achieve anything.

Where you can arrive exactly as you are, put the outside world down for a while and come back to yourself. 🍂

And you absolutely do not need to be experienced at yoga or particularly flexible.

You just need to feel that perhaps it’s time to make a little space for you.

The first Autumn Sanctuary journeys begin very soon.
