French/Spanish Language Club - East Lothian/ Edinburgh/Falkirk Fun & Educational French classes for children. Salut! ...... and a huge welcome to our page! Our classes are "child centred” and small.

We have been successfully offering French and Spanish classes in East Lothian/Edinburgh/Falkirk for over 12 years with many former pupils going on to excel in language learning at high school and beyond. At The Language Club we aim to make classes an enjoyable experience for children, to motivate them to learn a language and to inspire enthusiasm for language learning at an early age. Very young c

hildren will learn through stories, songs, rhymes and games. For the older ones there will be more role-plays and conversation. Throughout the year, children are introduced to the country and the culture of the language that they are learning. We use "the award winning"La Jolie Ronde Programmes because they are the best. They have been specifically designed for young learners and match the Experiences & Outcomes of the Curriculum for Excellence. Additionally, they offer excellent continuity so that children can progress from nursery through to secondary school and beyond. Children are allocated to appropriate classes dependant upon age, year at school and whether or not they have already followed language classes or have a knowledge of the language. There are often younger children in the more advanced classes simply because they have started at a very early age and progressed quickly. Each programme lasts between 1 and 2 academic years and once children complete a programme, we recognise their achievement with the presentation of a certificate before they progress to the next programme. Everyone who teaches with The Language Club is a fluent and confident French /Spanish speaker, is fully trained in the teaching methods of the organisation and has undergone Enhanced Disclosure in order to ensure the security of your children. In addition, the programme has been checked and approved by Eat lothian Council/Edinburgh council Education Services as suitable for promotion and delivery to children attending schools within its jurisdiction. 🥯👑...Or Will You Be Eating Roscón de Reyes Today?
🇪🇸Roscón de Reyes is a traditional Spanish oval shaped, brioche-like sweet bread. As with Galette des Rois it is traditionally eaten the night before or morning of Reyes or King’s Day (6th January) which celebrates Epiphany when the Three Kings came to visit the baby Jesus in Bethlehem.

Traditionally the Roscón has a sweet filling and garnished with ‘jewels’ of dried fruit and nuts. A trinket/bean or a king clay figurine is baked inside and the lucky person to find it, gets to be King or Queen for the day plus it also means you get to "pay" for the Roscón!!!
