Prepositions "On," "At," and "In"

A preposition is a word that links a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase to some other part of the sentence.

Prepositions can be tricky for English learners. There is no definite rule or formula for choosing a preposition. In the beginning stage of learning the language, you should try to identify a preposition when reading or listening in English and recognize its usage.

✅ TO the office
✅ AT the desk
✅ ON the table
✅ IN an hour

A preposition is used to show direction, location, or time, or to introduce an object.

Phrasal verbs are mainly used in spoken English and informal texts. (The more formal a conversation or text, the less phrasal verbs are found.)

Phrasal verbs consist of a verb plus a particle (preposition, adverb). The particle can change the meaning of the verb completely.

Most of us in the business world use emails as the main, and in some cases the only, means of written communication. For many students studying Business English and practising their business email writing skills is an important part of their course.

While most of us are happy to write informal emails to friends that might have grammatical mistakes in them, the same is not true when writing to colleagues and clients with whom we want to make a good impression.

Or where we need to be a bit more careful or more diplomatic than usual.

If you need help with Business English please do not hesitate and get in touch!

Sensible vs Sensitive

The most common definitions of the adjective sensible are practical, reasonable, and having (or showing) good sense or sound judgment. Sensible shoes, for example, are intended for comfort rather than good looks.

The most common definitions of the adjective sensitive are easily hurt or offended, highly perceptive, quick to respond to slight changes or differences, and concerned with secret or delicate matters.
