What a wonderful day of celebration for our Class of 2026!

Our students have achieved the strongest A Level results in Reed’s history, with an incredible 60% of grades at A/A*, almost a quarter at A*, and 88% at A–B*.

These boys and girls have also thrown themselves fully into life at Reed’s, making the most of all opportunities, showing that they got the balance right as they enter the world as well-rounded young men and women.

From Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial to universities across the UK and the USA, our students are heading on to an exciting range of courses and destinations. Others are beginning prestigious apprenticeships, including opportunities with Bank of America.

We couldn’t be prouder of this wonderful cohort. Their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm have shone through both in the classroom and across every aspect of Reed’s life.

Congratulations, Class of 2026!

Speech Day has ended a momentous year at Reed’s School! Inspiring speeches were interspersed with incredible musical renditions of an uplifting 'One Day More' from Les Miserables, Lauren's pitch perfect solo of 'The Greatest Love of All' and a rocking version of Prince's 'Purple Rain'.

The Chair of Governors reflected on an exciting chapter of change, including our merger with Feltonfleet School and the move to full co-education, expanding the foundation for pupils of both sexes and providing a fully co-educational pathway from the age of 2 to 18. Despite the introduction of VAT on fees, robust management and strong parental support has meant the year was weathered comfortably, with pupil numbers remaining strong and continued investment made in staff and facilities.

The Headmaster looked back on a vintage year: over 100 trips, incredible drama productions and sporting success at county, national and international level. Warm thanks went to all the staff and to the outgoing Upper Sixth who will be greatly missed. He announced exciting plans ahead to grow our alumni network in the years ahead for the benefit of pupils.

Our guest speaker, Manon Dave, shared an inspiring personal journey from an unstable childhood surrounded by music, to discovering a talent for technology and sound engineering, going on to build software instruments used by artists including Fred Again, Maroon 5, will.i.am and Coldplay. His message to our pupils was to express themselves through imagination and empathy, not just skill, and let technology break down barriers.

The School Captains closed proceedings with reflections on resilience, friendship and growth, reminding their peers that setbacks are often what make success meaningful, and urging them to strive for their best selves as they look to the future, surrounded by the friends and family who got them there. The influence of teachers was made clear – they go far beyond the expected and always place belief in the individual.

What a week to be a pupil at Reed’s School! From the streets of Bordeaux to the caves of Málaga, the City of London to Stubbers Outdoor Adventure Centre our pupils have had a truly fabulous time.

LOWER SIXTH FUTURES DAY
Students spent Futures Day thinking carefully about what comes next for them, and left with the confidence and connections to get there - helped by over 50 of our recent Old Reedonians.
LOWER SIXTH TRIP TO THE CITY OF LONDON
From the Royal Exchange to Lloyd's of London to the PWC offices Lower Sixth economics students walked the beating heart of our financial centre learning about the history and the opportunities available.
FIFTH FORM HE & EMPLOYABILITY WEEK
A brilliant week for our Fifth Form embracing a programme designed to prepare them for Sixth Form life and their future pathways. Practical employability skills combined with gaining first-hand insight from Old Reedonians and parents.
FOURTH FORM LANGUAGE TRIP TO FRANCE
The boys kept their cool in Bordeaux despite the heat enjoying language lessons, authentic French cuisine, bowling and exploring the city by tram.
FOURTH FORM LANGUAGE TRIP TO SPAIN
Cave tours, paella making, flamenco dancing, and a front-row seat at the San Juan festivities; pupils embraced every single moment in Málaga.
FOURTH FORM ADVENTURE CREW
While others headed overseas, the Adventure Crew took on a London Monopoly Board Walk and an Engineering Challenge involving the design and construction of launching machines applying core mechanical principles.
THIRD FORM ENTERPRISE FINALS
Dragons’ Den style presentations included seaweed waste bags, food delivery apps, eco ski packs and ideas looking at how to prevent shoplifting. Our Third Form entrepreneurs pitched their hearts out!
SECOND FORM AT STUBBERS OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CENTRE
The Second Form’s end-of-year adventure trip did not disappoint with axe throwing, raft building, paddle boarding, high ropes and an electric storm for good measure!
FIRST FORM DEBATING
Our youngest pupils were introduced to the world of debating, tackling big questions on exams, truth and morality. They were articulate, confident, and learnt a lot.
Every week at Reed’s looks different, but this one was definitely a highlight!

What does happen inside the UK House of Lords? Third Form pupils and Lower Sixth Politics students had the chance to find out first-hand from Baroness Hamwee.

With nearly 50 years of experience in public service, Baroness Hamwee shared fascinating insights into the legislative process, the role of the House of Lords, and her own journey in frontline politics.

Students then put their questions to her in a lively discussion covering everything from women’s rights in Afghanistan and international relations to the impact of smartphones and social media on young people. Baroness Hamwee was particularly impressed by the thoughtful, informed and nuanced questions from our students.

A huge thank you to Baroness Hamwee for giving up her time to inspire and engage our pupils. Experiences like these help bring politics beyond the classroom and into the real world.

Congratulations to the Second Form (Yr8) pupil who has achieved a remarkable literary honour: his original Sherlock Holmes-inspired short story is selected for publication in the 75th Anniversary Anthology of short story submission winners by the Sherlock Holmes Society of London!

His story, The Stained Revolver, is set in war ravaged London in 1941 and leads literature's most familiar partnerships in a completely unexpected direction. Rather than following the well-trodden path of Holmes and Watson, he cleverly upturns the deerstalker, reimagining their relationship in a way that is both startling and brilliantly original.

The audio version of the story will be added to the Complete Stories of Sherlock Holmes Whole School audiobook which was voiced, recorded and edited by the Reed's school community in 2022.

The pupil is also a valued Close Librarian, and may well be the first current student to have his work published and available from Reed's School Library whilst still at the school!
