Job Description:
A warm and welcoming family in Fetcham seeks an experienced and adaptable Nanny to care for their children, aged 5 and 11. This role requires someone who is nurturing, patient, and able to handle the varying emotional needs of the children, particularly their neurodiverse daughter. The successful candidate will be equally supportive of both children in their daily routines, including assisting with homework, musical instrument practice, and other after-school activities.
The family offers flexible working hours, but Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays are mandatory. The ideal candidate must be a confident driver, as driving will be essential for school pick-ups and transporting the children to activities.
Working Hours (Flexible):
• Option 1: 7:00 am – 9:00 am and 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm
• Option 2: 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm (afternoon/evening)
• Option 3: Full Days 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (includes housekeeping duties if preferred)
Full days on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.) will be required during school holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide attentive and compassionate care for both children
• Assist with school pick-ups and drop-offs
• Help with homework, reading, and overseeing musical instrument practice
• Prepare healthy snacks and meals as required
• Organize fun and engaging activities to stimulate both children’s learning and development
• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment at all times
• (Optional) Perform light housekeeping duties during full-day shifts, including laundry, tidying up, and keeping common areas clean
Requirements:
• Previous experience as a Nanny or in a childcare role
• Experience working with neurodiverse children is highly desirable
• Must be a driver with a clean driving record
• Reliable, adaptable, and able to manage different tasks in a calm manner
• Strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude
• Willingness to work longer hours during school holidays
• Excellent communication skills
Salary:
The family is happy to pro-rata the salary based on the chosen working hours and is willing to discuss a competitive rate depending on experience and availability.
