🍃 At the end of Summer 1 term, the sun shone and the warm weather finally prompted Robins Class butterflies to begin hatching, completing their metamorphosis. The children were beyond excited and had a lovely day watching them emerge from their chrysalises and dry their wings. The children fed them their first 'meal' and watched them uncurl their tongues. Mrs Holmes then released the beautiful painted lady butterflies and we hope they have now flown off to continue the lifecycle! 🦋

✉📮 Kingfishers Class received some very exciting post this week from Buckingham Palace 🫅 Last term each child wrote a letter to King Charles using their word processing skills to type the letter before having a go at making a wax seal, carefully heating the wax with a candle and using a metal stamp 🕯 The children were very pleased to get a response from the Palace 😍

🔵 🎨 Our annual Colour Run was a joyful celebration of energy, teamwork and community spirit and together we raised a whopping £870 for our Library Refurbishment Project 📚 This is a tremendous achievement for our school, and we are so grateful for the generosity shown by our families. 🏃 Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils recently took part in a multi-school athletics sports competition, facing five other local schools and returned to school as champions 🥇 Their joy was infectious, and the achievement is something we will all remember. Every child received a medal, and we are now proudly displaying a large winners' trophy in school 🏆

⛹‍ This time last week our Year 5 and 6 girls took part in an ‘Atlas Sports Small Schools Netball Competition’, competing against six other teams. They played brilliantly and represented the school with great enthusiasm and teamwork 😃 As Thea said afterwards, “It was such good fun” Well done to all involved. What a fantastic start to the term. A huge thank you to all the parents who kindly helped with transport, and to Mr Davis, who accompanied the team throughout the competition 🏀
