Who can believe this was 2 years ago already? So proud we managed to keep lessons going online without any breaks throughout ALL the lockdowns! I love how optimistic I was that it wouldn't be for too long 😂 And now, online lessons are just a part of what the studio offers - so many of you are continuing to use them for all kinds of reasons, and it's great to be able to be so flexible 😊

I hope all our students and families have had a fantastic Christmas and New Year!

The studio will reopen and lessons resume on Thursday the 6th of January.

I will be teaching in person - with masks still required, social distancing observed and cleaning between every student as has been the case all along, however, as always, if you would prefer your lesson to be online please just let me know in advance. If you or someone in your household are unwell at all, test positive on a lft or pcr, or are awaiting pcr results please let me know asap and switch to online.

Please also remember to change your monthly fee amount - if you need a reminder of what the new rate is please get in touch before your payment date.

Last week of teaching before we close for CHRISTMAS! 🎅⭐️⛄️🎄

Just a reminder that lessons are on up until, and including, Wednesday the 22nd of December.

We start back after the holidays on Thursday the 6th of January.

This morning was our Ruthven Strings Christmas social - we spent it decorating some old violins to put up in the studio- I think you can all agree we have some talented artists in the group!!

It's CONCERT DAY tomorrow! Can't wait to see you all live and in person at Townhead Parish Church. Tickets are still available, just message to book. Ruthven Strings have a last rehearsal tomorrow morning at 10am, but please remember all individual lessons are off.

Busy few weeks ahead for Ruthven Music!

We have ABRSM and Trinity exams happening throughout November, both recorded and in person - Good Luck everyone!
Then it's our Christmas Concerts on Saturday the 4th of December - can't wait to see everyone perform in front of an audience again!

We also have a Christmas Social Night for our Adult students and Ruthven Voices members on Friday the 10th of December,
then Ruthven Strings have a Christmas Craft morning on Saturday the 11th of December 🎅

Lots to fit in before we close for the Festive holidays, which will be from Thursday the 23rd of December until Wednesday the 6th of January inclusive.

A few rare evening and afternoon spaces have become available - I now have 5:30pm on Tuesdays, 3pm on Wednesdays and 4:30pm on Saturdays free if anyone is looking to move, extend their lesson time, or knows of anyone who would like to start lessons!

Congratulations to Ellie for achieving a Distinction in her recent Piano Grade 6 Performance Exam with ABRSM - an excellent, very well deserved mark! 🎉🎉🎉

Did you know that at Ruthven Music 39.5% of our students are Adults? 37.5% are Secondary School age and 23% are under 12's - this really reflects our philosophy that NO ONE is too old to learn an instrument! There's nothing better than the joy an older student gets from learning something they've always wanted to, or coming back to an instrument they've played a long time ago!
